everyone loves a good secrets rp, right? well i don’t know about you but sometimes i have a hard time coming up with realistic secrets that aren’t too over the the top like “they killed their parent”, “their parent killed their other parent in front of them”, “they got pregnant at 16 and gave the baby up for adoption”, or “they caused a car crash”.

ALRIGHT, so when it comes to ‘secrets’ roleplays, the thing that always turns me away is that having a group full of characters who have all accidentally hit someone with their car, been arrested, or had a secret baby can be a lot. So below the cut you will find a list of secrets that are interesting and you can have fun with, but are more ‘everyday’ plots opposed to super dramatic ‘life changing ones’.

could you help me with deep, dark secrets ?? i’ve been trying to think of some for DAYS now, but i just can’t think of any. 😭 my character’s label is ‘the broken bird’, but she seems really happy and upbeat on the outside, always wearing a smile and the color pink.

sure  lovey  !  it’s  currently  4am  so  i  apologize  if  these  aren’t  the  best  ( i’ll  edit  later  today  if  i  come  up  with  some  more )  but  here  are  some  ideas  for  ya  :

triggers:  mentions of death, murder, a love affair.

your muse took part in a prank that inevitably badly hurt or killed one of their friends. everyone involved fled the scene and never spoke of the incident again.

—  this  one  could  work  because  maybe  they  were  upbeat  and  chipper  before  the  accident  &  are  constantly  trying  to  stay  composed  so  no  one  suspects  they  were  a  part  of  it.

your muse killed their more popular twin and made it seem like they ( your muse ) ran away so they could take their twin’s spot.

—  this  one  could  work  because  they  would  obviously  feel  guilty  about  what  they  did  but  would  have  to  mask  their  true  emotions ,  again ,  so  there’s  no  suspicion.  &  the  twin  would’ve  likely  been  a  lively  person  so  your  muse  is  playing  the  part.

your muse recently started practicing dark magic and accidentally put a curse upon themselves  ~ maybe the curse inflicted insomnia or general bad luck on your muse.

—  this  one  could  work  because  they  would  have  to  act  like  nothing  is  wrong  ‘cause  maybe  no  one  knows  they  practice  witchcraft  and  they’re  afraid  of  being  judged.  so  everyday ,  your  muse  is  literally  that  meme  of  dog  in  a  room  of  fire  saying  “ this is fine:) ”.

your muse walked in on / saw one of their parents cheating with someone and was bribed by said parent not to tell the other.

—  this  one  could  work  because  it’s  obviously  a  heavy  secret  to  hold  &  maybe  they’re  very  close  to  the  other  parent  and  is  conflicted  about  what  to  do.  but   they  have  to  make  it  seem  like  everything  is  okay  despite  how  devastated  they  feel.

scripting guide.

We see that you guys are having a bit of trouble wrapping your mind around scripting, so we decided to make a scripting guide for you! Hope you find this helpful. 

I know you guys are more used to para than scripting now. But since the pandemic, a lot of old urban rpers have made a come back. To make interactions flow easier on the dash and things more relaxed so you guys won’t tire out while writing, we encouraging you guys to use script during events. you can also write script in 3rd person.

EXAMPLE 1:

[I let my eyes roam the venue as I stuff my hands in my pockets, my feet coming to a halt at the commotion going on in front of me. A smile breaks out across my face as I see one of my childhood best friends in front of me, causing me to drop my hands from my pockets, stretching them out wide as a squeal leaves my mouth.] Biiiitch! [I stomp my feet lightly on the ground as I make my way over to her and I wrap my arms around the girls body, swinging from side to side as we hold each other.] “It’s been so long!” [I pull back from her to look at her in her eyes before I bring my hands up to her face, brushing the strands of hair out of her eyes with my fingertips as I give her a warm smile.] I know, how you been? You changed so much, let me get a look at you. [I state as I look at her from head to toe, looking at her new clothes, hairstyle, and expensive acrylic nails.] You look good, though!

EXAMPLE 2:

Man, what the fuck you talkin’ bout, Toya? *I grumble as I tuck my phone between my ear and shoulder, freeing my hands so I can count the money that’s in my lap. My eyebrows furrow while I listen to the woman on the other line complain about the way I’ve been treating her, her voice causing me to roll my eyes.* I don’t know what the fuck you talkin’ about and I really ain’t tryna hear it. I got shit to do. *The tone of my voice hardens as I take my free hand and place it on my phone, pressing my thumb down on the red end call button then tossing my phone to the side.* Bitches, man. *I mumble under my breath as I split the money into stacks and place it on my coffee table, looking at it for a second.* Aight, we good for a few months.

Again, the point of writing like this is to make it easier on you guys during events. It’s to make things flow, keep you guys motivated to stay on the dash and not take your conversations to IMs.
