ted nivision x fem!reader
summary: getting left alone in schlatt’s apartment with ted
warning: making out, light smut!!
A/N: got a bit uninspired by the end, so will probably write a part 2 another time:)
hope you enjoy xx
⸻
“Yeah, no she was great,” Ted explains.
You lay down on the carpet of Schlatt’s apartment, listening vaguely to the conversation. Ted and Charlie are talking about a date he went on a few days ago. Occasionally Schlatt would have people over to drink a couple of beers and hang out, but by the late evening usually only the four of you remained. The living room was still scattered with empty bottles, and the playlist put on was now on its third repeat.
Lying flat on his couch, Schlatt scrolls through his phone for food options. “Pizza place closes in ten, let’s go Charlie.”
“Wait, why do I have to go?”
“Ted went last time,” he calls.
Charlie sighs and gets up. “I want more details when I get back.”
Ted awkwardly ignores his comment and throws his head back against the couch. The whole night he’s been sitting next to you comfortably on the floor. You notice Schlatt giving Ted a quick nod before they close the door behind them.
Still laying down on the carpet, you look up at him. “What’s that about?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know.”
“Uh yeah, now I do.”
He sighs deeply. “The girl Charlie set me up with… total bitch.”
“What?,” you exclaim.
“Yup.”
“You just said-“
“Yeah I know, he was just so excited about it and now I feel bad.” He places his head in his hands.
“Oh my god,” you giggle. For the last couple of months Ted has been going on countless of dates, always having a stupid reason on why it didn’t work out. “What was it this time? Was her hair too long? Was she too into horses?,” you tease.
“No…” he begins. You raise your eyebrows.
“She was rude to a waitress.”
You burst out laughing.
He places his hand on your leg in an attempt to get your attention again. “No no, you don’t understand, the restaurant went dead silent, it was so fucking embarrassing.”
“Yeah, that’s not great.”
While recollecting yourself, you realize how close the two of you are, your legs gently touching. Ted sighs and crosses his arms, his biceps very noticeable beneath his oversized graphic t-shirt. You can’t help but stare, not at all bothered by the view.
“I politely texted her afterwards saying I would rather remain friends, and she told me I could go fuck myself so…“
You try to keep it in but let out a giggle again. He pokes you with his foot. “It’s not funny!”
You softly hit him back with your leg. “I’m sorry! It’s just…where does Charlie find these people? Wait does Schlatt know about this?”
“Yeah, that’s why he got me out of that conversation.”
You understood, but were slightly disappointed. Something in you hoped Schlatt was wing-manning Ted by leaving the two of you alone. You were great friends of course, but there had always been some tension. Longing touches and drunk flirting were a usual for nights like these. You both didn’t fight it, it was more of an unspoken agreement that if it happened, it wouldn’t necessarily be the worst thing.
He exhales deeply. “I think this it. I’m definitely dying alone.”
“Oh, shut up.” You roll your eyes, but of course he keeps talking. It’s almost physically painful. Ted, insanely attractive and completely aware of it, moaning about being single.
“My success rate used to be so good, I don’t know what happened.” He looks over to you and notices you’re still grinning.
“Is my misery amusing to you?”
You grab his knee to pull yourself up so you’re face to face. “No, I just think you’re full of shit.”
He scoffs dramatically. “Do tell.”
“I have tons of friends who would jump at the chance to go on a date with you, and you know it.” Your hand still rests on his knee, which he clearly doesn’t mind.
He rocks his head back. “No, I can’t date your friends.”
“Why not?”
He lays his head down and looks at you. “You know why.”
Of course you knew why. You didn’t even want him to date your friends. The tension between you and Ted was too good to be shoved to the side like that, and he knew that too.
“No I don’t actually,” you smile.
He lifts his head, now inches away from yours. “You’re a terrible liar.”
Ted grabs your jaw and pulls you into a gentle kiss. You place one hand on his neck and one in his hair. Fuck it felt good.
He licks your bottom lip, slipping his tongue in and firmly grabs you by the waist. Catching the hint, you move one leg over his lap to straddle him.
His kisses get rougher, and you can’t help but let out a satisfied whimper. You keep that position for a while, taking in the moment after months of ‘almosts’. Almost making out at a party a few times, almost moaning his name when with another guy. He would sometimes tease you for turning red around him, and it drove you absolutely insane.
One hand slides under your top, the other one harshly grabbing your ass. He pulls away from the kiss and immediately moves his lips to your neck. The cold metal of his glasses against your skin gives you goosebumps. Slowly, but steadily you start grinding against him as you feel him get bigger in his pants.
“Didn’t know you had that in you, Teddy.”
He smiles against your neck. “Couldn’t wait to find out, mmh?”
You scoff sarcastically and take your top off. “Fuck you’re gorgeous,” he exhales.
Before you can answer his mouth is on your chest, leaving marks for only him to see. His touch is enough to get you soaking wet.
Suddenly Ted’s phone starts ringing. He quickly grabs it— annoyed, but not moving from his position.
You immediately recognize the muffled voice from the other side.
“Yo, what topping do you guys want?”
Ted sighs and swings his head back, clearly having forgotten about Schlatt and Charlie.
“I don’t care, whatever you’re getting.”
You brush your hand from his chest to his crotch, undoing the buckle of his belt. His eyes follow your movements and he quickly catches on. Cautiously you run your fingers down his boxers, tracing the elastic band to tease him. He keeps his eyes on you, rock hard now. You grasp the base of his cock, making him gasp under his breath.
“Alright, we’ll be there in ten.”
You move your hand, stroking him slowly as he hardly holds it together.
“Schlatt, could you guys run by CVS and get some Tylenol?”
“Dude, that’s a twenty minute walk.”
Ted was smart for stalling, but the slurring in his words almost gave him away.
“Yeah I know, but the beer is giving me a real headache.”
To not seem too suspicious, Ted lets Schlatt yap for a minute or two. The look on his face is priceless. He maintains eye contact, but often squeezes his eyes shut, taking in the sensation.
“Fine, it’s your pizza that’ll get cold.”
As you notice the call is going to end, you pull your hand back and get out of his lap.
Ted hangs up and throws his phone on the carpet. “Oh you’re done.” He hoists you up and throws you on the couch behind him.
“You should be grateful I bought you a few extra minutes, you know.” He now takes his pants off, revealing his fully erect cock in his plaid boxers. “I’m taking my time with you.”

By eleven o’clock, the afterparty has already lost its spirit. The DJ took a quick break and left the venue playing a playlist of sappy wedding songs. You don’t mind it too much; it gives you time to sit down and observe people from the sidelines.
10cc’s I’m Not in Love starts next. You watch as some couples begin romantically slowdancing on the dance floor, encouraged by the bride and groom. Directly in your line of sight is Ben—second cousin of the bride, as well as your date for the evening—drunkenly hugging himself and swaying to the music. Unfortunately, his attractiveness doesn’t make up for his personality. You do admire his confidence, but that might be his only redeeming quality.
“Well, he’s a catch.”
You shift your gaze to see Ted also staring at your date. He collapses into the chair next to you and takes a sip of his champagne. His jacket is off, leaving him in a dress shirt with a few buttons undone and a loosened tie.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but Ben is actually very profound,” you respond.
For some reason, you find yourself defending him, as if he’s not the biggest airhead you’ve ever met. Ted is absolutely right to criticize him, though; you’re just too petty to admit it.
“Oh, I can tell.” He turns his head toward you. “Does he know you need two people to slow dance?”
You roll your eyes at his sarcastic remark. Ted rests his arm on the table behind you, subtly moving closer.
“You shouldn’t judge,” you note. “I’m pretty sure your date is trying to get it on with the groom’s dad.”
You both glance across the dance floor, noticing a tipsy girl with both arms around the groom’s divorced father. The man looks to be in his sixties, with a patch of chest hair poking through his shirt and a remarkable porn stache. You both wince at the sight.
“Yeah… she has to have, like, a moustache kink or something.” His remark makes you giggle.
“Kinda looks like you in forty years,” you tease.
Ted squints at the man, clearly uncomfortable. “Just shoot me if I end up like that.”
“Gladly,” you add.
He turns to you and nods toward the door. “You still smoke?”
“Oh yeah,” you answer, relieved to get some fresh air. Quickly, you grab your purse and make your way toward the entrance. Ted downs his champagne and follows. As you navigate through the drunk crowd, he places his fingers on your lower back, guiding you. Your dress has an open back, so his touch on your bare skin sends shivers down your spine. Something tells you he knows what he’s doing. Whenever Ted drinks, even just a little, he tends to get very cocky and confident. He’s painfully aware of just how attractive you find it.
Finally outside, you find a remote spot, just out of sight from anyone exiting the venue.
You rummage through your purse for your pack of cigarettes. As you place one in your mouth, Ted lights it for you. It’s strangely intimate, yet comfortable.
You both lean against the wall as he faces you.
“You think they’ll last?”
“Matt and Katie?” you ask, taking a drag of your cigarette. Ted nods.
“I mean, they have to. If they don’t make it, I’m never getting married.”
He shrugs. “Worst case scenario, there’s another wedding where we run into each other.”
“That would be awful,” you say, playing along with the joke. In some sense, it would actually be awful seeing him again dressed in a suit and tie, all smug, knowing you find him truly irresistible like that.
“Horrible.” He grimaces and takes another drag of his cigarette.
The orange light from a nearby garden lamp reflects on his glasses and beautifully illuminates his face. His hair is a little messy from the long night, and just as you’re observing him more clearly, he catches you staring.
At this point, you’ve had enough drinks to match his boldness, so it doesn’t even matter anymore. You inch close to him and softly tug at his tie.
“I forgot how good you look in a suit, Ted.”
He’s completely flustered, yet maintains his composure. “Yeah, it’s hard looking this adorable.”
You roll your eyes at that comment.
“You know… I really don’t get it,” he adds. Slowly, he places one hand on your waist, holding his cigarette in the other.
“Hm?” you murmur. His touch makes you melt against his body. Your hands are still steadily on his tie, provoking him to get closer.
“Why you keep settling for these assholes when you could have any guy you want.” He subtly looks down at your lips, when you suddenly back away to put your cigarette out on the ground.
“Too bad flattery doesn’t work on me,” you tease. He’s appalled, even a bit offended at how you slip out of his fingers like that. After all, you don’t want to make it too easy for him.
“I’m sure it doesn’t. It’s true though,” he admits. He pulls you back to his body. Ted sees right through the game you’re playing and is now determined to make sure you fold first.
“Well, what do you think I’m doing right now?”
He forms a smug smile. “You want me? Is that it?” Without breaking eye contact, he tosses his cigarette on the ground. “Say it.”
Fuck. How does he always manage to get his finger wrapped around you?
“Do you need your ego caressed that badly?” you mock, unable to admit your defeat.
“One hundred percent.”
You’re too stubborn to look him in the eye now, but he places his finger under your chin and lifts it so you’re face to face again. He has that stupid grin on his face.
“God, you’re annoying.”
“I know,” he whispers.
Before he can say anything else, you harshly pull him in by his tie. The kiss is rough but tender. He squeezes your waist and moves one hand to your jaw. You taste the champagne and liquor shots he’s had through the night, and suddenly you want him even more. As much as you hate to admit it, he definitely wins. Subtly, Ted smiles against your lips, clearly content with the outcome of your conversation. You briefly pull away, staying inches from his face.
“Someone’s enjoying himself.”
“Let’s just go to my place,” he suggests, placing a quick sloppy kiss on your lips again.
“We gotta say goodbye to some people first.”
He throws his head back and places his hands firmly on your hips. “I mean… do we have to?”
You think for a few seconds. “Just the bride and groom?”
“That’s polite enough for me.”
“Let’s do it.”
