Holding in his very breath and feeling his heart pound almost through his chest, Eddie feared for his very own life. He knew it was her, it had to of been right? There wasn’t anyone else that would call him Eddie and send him flying across the room in an instance like this would there? What if he was wrong what if he was-Her eyes shifted for a moment but he saw it and the tear that trailed down her face made him gulp down his fear and take in a deep breath.
“My dear…it’s you isn’t it? Oh please my Darling please forgive me…” He cooed softly before she scurried away.
Desperately he wanted to reach out, to touch her and let her know that he never meant what he had said, he wanted to protect her and help her in this…this state of whatever she was trapped in. For once he felt utterly helpless and unable to do the one thing he desired to do so badly as as he went to reach his hand out and touch her before a gunshot was fired. His attention turned to behind her and then back to her when she mentioned for him to hide.
No point in getting shot within a few seconds, Eddie quickly darted and hide behind a small area peeking up now and again as he watched in horror and anticipation. Although she had disappeared and no one was in sight, He couldn’t help but be afraid when he heard more gunshots and screaming. What on earth was happening here? There were too many questions as he sighed and pushed his back against the dark mess he’d been hiding behind.
In the distance he could hear this odd sound, footsteps that sounded oddly eerie and soft, petite almost if Eddie could describe it. Only when her voice called to him did he look up and see her, his dear darling Laura. As he stood up he looked around for her but he couldn’t see her, not exactly anyway. “Laura? Sweet heart where are you?” He cooed but he was frantic to hear her, even if he voice sounded off.
Laura swallowed thickly, she didn't take on this form often. It almost felt too foreign being like this, but she hadn't needed to roam around as herself. Not when she was just another monster in the void trying to keep intruders at bay-- away from Ruby.
Laura was about to call out for Eddie again only to hear her own name echo off the walls. Her breath got stuck in her throat and she nearly felt like throwing up; yet, she resisted the urge. Why had they put him in STEM of all places? Why Eddie? Was he just another pointless victim or was he sent here with a purpose? It was odd to Laura, taking the role of a monster only to have a near panic attack threatening to come on.
Taking a deep, calming breath she closed her eyes before stepping out of the tunnel into the dim light of the room. Unlike before where she was a towering monster she looked just as she had before the fire. Braces and all. The same clothing as the day of the fire, the last thing Ruben had remembered her being in or even seeing her as. Perhaps that was for the better of them all if he remembered her like this instead of the mess she was after the barn fire.
There she stood at the mouth of the tunnel, bright ghostly blue eyes opening and looking over at him. A smile graced her features, a few emotions lingering-- happiness, nervousness, confusion and most of all... sadness. Of course she was happy to see his face again but not under these circumstances.
"Why are you here? Eddie... why are you in STEM?" Laura honestly wanted to run into his arms and hug him tight now that things were calm, but she had to know. She had to know if he knew. "Did they send you? Why... Oh, Eddie! Why did they have to put you in here too!" Laura's usually calm and collected front was faltering, crumbling very quickly. Red tinted tears beginning to roll down her cheeks and her state of mind becoming a little unstable causing her appearance to gain blood splatter on her dress and her pale skin. However, her figure didn't change at least not yet. Her voice cracked with emotion, but still sounded like she should.
For such a horrifying monster in this world, Laura was still Laura deep down beneath all that bloodshed and violence.
