Gottlieb High Hand restoration project.
I made a 10 hour round trip to pick up this poor, neglected baby. It was dropped off at a barcade in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and from the looks of it, this isn’t the first bar it’s seen. The owner abandoned it, and the barcade owner didn’t want it in his establishment. He gave it to his repair guy, who wasn’t up for a restoration project at this time, so it fell in my hands. I’m determined to restore it to glory, though I’m not trying to make a showpiece out of it. Just looking to clean it up, touch up the playfield paint and backglass, polish all the rust off the metal and give the cabinet a fresh paint job (don’t worry, I’ll redo the original design and not just slap a coat of paint over the whole thing)
I rarely make New Years resolutions, but I’m glad I made this one and stuck with it. Book 52 was a sad one but an important one to read #bookaweek2018
Book 51 of the year. Enjoying the Star Trek series, but I may end on a non-fiction book I just picked up from the library #bookaweek2018
Made it to book 50! The end is in sight as I’m really enjoying this series and I have 4 more to read #bookaweek2018
Book 49 is written by a comic book writer. Loved the idea behind the story, but found the ending very disappointing, as it leaves the most important questions unanswered.. Boo!! #bookaweek2018
Book 48 was another great novel by the master of alternate history, Harry Turtledove. #bookaweek2018
Book 47 is the first of a 6 book series that spans 30 years in the Trek universe. Loved it, but picked up a couple of books from the library that I’ll have to tackle before moving on with the next one. #bookaweek2018
Book 46 was hilarious. When I get the giggles just trying to read some of the lines to my wife, I know it’s good! #bookaweek2018
Book 45 was part 4 in an 8 book series. It’s still going strong! #bookaweek2018
Book 44 was pretty disappointing. A series of rambling stories by an author who wrote a great book about the city of Detroit. This one was pretty bad.
Book 43 was part 3 in an 8 book series. Gonna take a break with some non-fiction I found at the library and the. Get back to it.
Book 42 is the sequel to book 34. Of course, it left me hanging, so I’m starting up with the next one in the series for book 43 #bookaweek2018
Book 41 is one I’ve read before, but it’s soooo good I didn’t mind reading it again
On an unplanned stop at Goodwill, I found this beauty from 1995. Didn’t take me long to devour it and make it Book 40
If this 1979 novel is canon, that means the Avengers have an 8-track player in their quinjet, and the Beast likes DEVO. Book 39 was lots of fun.
