As yah know, I am a working artist, public speaker, arts educator, and community organizer. I am also an active youth advocate, and a civil rights activist. As a transwoman, much of my activism is focused on Trans / LGBTQAAII+ issues and supporting other marginalized groups. Unfortunately, my work doesn't come with a paycheck or healthcare.
Soooooo I've started a Patreon as a way to generate some income because adulting and because I need to cover my studio space, materials, traveling expenses, fund bigger projects within the community, and eventually (once the current health crisis is past us) raise capital so that I can FINALLY launch my nonprofit organization, which is meant to supplement the art educational needs of depressed urban environments, while also providing brick and mortar support for other like minded advocacy groups.
In short, I am asking for financial assistance to help me be the person I needed when I was street kid in crisis.

"Ms. DeRosa (DeROSAart) is an internationally acclaimed, multidisciplinary artist with over 34 years of professional, "on-the-ground" experience. A New York born San Franciscan, she became a staple of the west coast “Low-brow” / “POP Surrealism” scene of the late nineties / early 2000's, exhibiting across the US, Europe, and Taiwan.
In 2010, after a cross-country art tour, and a few years in Chicago mentoring youth, and doing public art in depressed areas, she ventured to Europe for a 5 month adventure of art, friendship and love. That August, she and her wife Gwen, landed in Columbus Ohio to pursue their MFAs. Midway through her studies at The Columbus College of Art and Design (2012-2014), her expertise in cadaver studies landed her a 5 year position teaching technical anatomy, and fundamental drawing. In 2016, 3 years into her role as instructor, she came out to her students and colleagues as a transwoman, and never looked back.
Since then, Felicia has embraced her authenticity and stepped further into the her role of youth advocate and Trans Activist. She has co-organized the Trans Day of Remembrance (central Ohio) for the last 5 years, and has spoken before numerous businesses, schools, and faith communities on inclusion and gender equality. In early 2018, her and her former students helped co-organize a trans visibility march/rally in protest of the federal attack on trans rights in the U.S. She’s spoken at rallies, and marched with her trans siblings in the name of solidarity, peace, and diversity within the Trans community at large. She continues to stand in solidarity with other marginalized groups in the fight for equality and fairness -- all while still maintaining her art practice, and providing tutelage and curatorial services for, with, and as part of the arts community."
