Gunterâs lips quirked up into a small smile at Ben and Ceceâs comments. âIt does. Too bad heâs not even half as capable as any of those villains though.â In the backseat Oliver was staring up at the house excitedly his attention was only pulled away by Anieseâs remark. âReally?â He asked before noticing her hand and his eyes widened. He felt his face get hot and, feeling really shy, awkwardly looked off into the distance at nothing in particular. He didnât dare move or even breathe. It was only when Cece moved her hand away that he was able to relax again. Admittedly though, he was pretty sad that it was gone.
The inside of the house was set up like a scene from a bad mad scientist movie, a table to do âexperimentsâ sat in the middle of the floor and odd looking âweaponsâ hung on all the walls. âWow!â Oli exclaimed before making his way over towards one particularly ominous looking gun. âWonder what this doesâŚâ Gunter on the other side of the room stared unimpressed at his surroundings. âProbably nothing.â He spoke to Oliver before his eyes caught a wall with two switches with caution tape and warning signs all over it. Walking over and observing it closer, the boy shrugged and hit the switch on the left.
A couple feet away, a log being held by a rope that, even at first glance, was obviously too thin to hold it up came towards him from the side of the room. However, before getting anywhere near the boy, the rope broke and the log simply fell to floor with a loud crash. ââŚthat guy is such a moron.â Gunter spoke quietly before turning around and hitting the second button. With that, the wall opened up; revealing a dimly lit staircase. âIâm heading down.â His eyes met Benâs who, besides Cece who he didnât want to get involved in anything potentially dangerous, was the person here he trusted the most. âWant to come with me?â He asked before turning back towards the stairs, âthe rest of you can come too or stay up here. I donât care.â
âShould I pull the trigger?â Oliver, who was too focused on the gun that he was now holding and didnât hear anything that had just happened, asked Aniese and Gunter sighed before heading down. Once as far as he could go, the boy noticed the path was closed off and three switches were on the wall in front of him this time. He clicked his tongue in annoyance before turning towards Ben. âInterested in giving this one a try?â
Rainbow pursed her lips together and then began saying what was on her mind. âMordyâŚyou donât think that old bastard and that lady from the jungle are in on this together, do you?â There was a brief pause, before she continued quietly, âthis could beâŚreally dangerous. From what I understand one of these kids can create explosions, one manipulates metal, one of that ladyâs kids can manipulate gravity and the other seems pretty intelligent and can teleport. That jungle lady could even be there with them and we all know how strong she is. Not to mentionâŚâ she trailed off thinking better about mentioning Aniese. âAre you sure you donât wanna come home and work a plan out first?â

Ben watched as the log hit the floor. âYikes,â he quipped as he ran his fingers through his fluffy hair. Hearing Gunter talk to him, but not listening enough to know what he was truly saying, all he could bother with a response was a simple, âhuh.â Turning his head in the direction to Oliver he couldnât help but smirk at the site of of the gun.
âYou sure you should be messing with that?â He questioned before taking another look around, noticing that Gunter was long gone. âShit.â He cursed. Aniese pointed to the hole, showing Ben where to go.Â
âAh.â Ben the made his way down the hole and to his cousin. âThis place is wild.â He whispered to himself, before finally catching up. âuhhhh yeah I got you.â he replied with assurance. âIâm thinking middle switch.â Just as he reached his hand to pulled the switch, it dawned on him. âUnless....â Using his hand he pulled it back with force, the switches coming back with it. Chucking along with it. âGot it!â
Aniese jumped and clapped, âOh yeah pulled that trigger baby!â she screamed with excitement. But when he did and nothing happen Aniese couldnât help but be a tad disappointed. âThatâs okay....try again.â She reassured, sweetly. This time when he pulled the trigger she was sure to use her gift and made tiny explosions come out of her hand. âoh la la, very cool wizard!â She exclaimed with a playful wink. âHowâd you get it to do that?â
âNO!â Mordy scoffed, angrily as he walked further into the jungle. I hate this place, he cursed to himself. âSorry.â he mumbled to Rainbow for his outburst, âI think I can handle a couple of dumb kids.â Taking a few steps, he just got more lost in the jungle, â I just...â he trailed off, âgot to...â get out of here he thought to himself. Hearing some rustling in some bushes or maybe it was the trees, Mordy could feel his heart rate going up. âFuck.â Eyes widing at the sight of what he could only describe as a swamp monster. Beaming out a light machete, âCome get some!â   Â
