Last question from Max and Daniel press conference in Austin
Question for Daniel as Max's former teammate, somebody who has been up close and personal, is there anything that you have seen him as a driver or in his personality that you think might give him an edge in this championship race?
Block your ears Max. He’s shown it all year but also the last few years. There was that stage in Max’s young carrier where he had the speed but there was still a few mistakes or a bit of over anxiousness or eagerness but he quickly cleared that up. I think it was 2018. It was really that year. He learn from that and the second half of his season was really strong and you could see that click in maturity on track and the last few season for him has been pretty immense. Although Lewis has the experience of already winning world titles, I don’t really see that as an advantage now. They both capable, I mean Lewis has proven it but I think max is capable. He’s got pretty stable head on his shoulder now and he’s proven that with some of the drives he’s done this year. I'm in the point where I'm looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. Obviously I'm not a part of that battle so from a fan point of view you want it to go till the end but they been nick and tuck all year. It has been good to watch and I do think max is capable of it so time will tell.
yuki just... straight up sat... on pierre's lap. x

are you saying it’s normal to ship real actual people and not just characters?
idk, bud, what is “normal”? is it “normal” to write about the life and times of Antony and Cleopatra, as Willy “The Bard” Shakespeare did? how about making a critically-acclaimed biopic about a real woman who really walked this earth, speculating about the sex lives of actual humans, like 2018’s Colette (or indeed 1991’s Becoming Colette)? is that “normal”? or what if you write a screenplay about the real Jane Austen and her doomed love life (Becoming Jane, 2007)? or about Thomas Jefferson’s “sexual combustibility” (1776, 1972)? ooo, on the topic of the Founding Fathers, is Lin Manuel Miranda “normal” for writing raps about Alexander Hamilton boning down on another man’s wife (Hamilton, 2015)? or, if you’re more sympathetic to the other side of that conflict, where do you think The Crown (2016) falls on the scale of “normal”?
really, who among us is “normal”? how do we define “normal” in a media landscape absolutely bursting with the authorized, unauthorized, uncouth, and unabridged imagined lives of real people, living or dead? for that matter, how do you define “real” people? if you’re writing about a public figure whose entire persona is curated for you through tabloid magazines and film directors and editors and makeup artists and graphic designers and publicists, how “real” can this figure be said to be to you? if you’re writing about the completely made-up life of a movie star reimagined as a college student in your hometown falling in love with his costar who through a twist of fate has become his roommate, is this still a “real” person you are writing about? is this a “normal” pastime? is writing anything fictional, fantastic, or completely fabricated based on a sliver of the actual world a “normal” thing to do?
idk! but I do know that it’s fun! and that it mitigates the toil and drudgery of our brutish and short human lives to imagine our favorite hot celebrities having wild monkey sex, and that it hurts no one in the undertaking.
Anon, mass culture and mainstream media fucking LOVE real person fiction. They even give out Academy Awards for that shit! White male writers sell rpf screenplays to movie studios all the fucking time. Whole industries of celebrity magazines, tabloids and blogs make their living off thinly-veiled rpf. The main difference between a Real Life Published Author “reconstructing” the thoughts and feelings of a real person in their nonfiction book about Insert Topic Here, and a fanfic writer doing rpf online, is that the latter is an easily accessible nobody with no meaningful power to hit back at you when you harass them about it.
This is one of my favourite things to think about, how ‘real’ are any of the ‘real’ people who transmit their curated persona to us as part of their job in the public eye, how ‘real’ am I when I transmit my worksona through upbeat emails! with exclamation marks! when I actually want to murder someone and/or die, depending on the day! How many versions of the self are there anyway? Is every word ever written in aSerious Newspaper about Princess Diana rpf? Is that fic where Michael sheen slaps David tennant in the face during sex based on more reliable primary sources than Hilary Mantel’s Booker prize winning novels about Thomas Cromwell? Idk but I enjoyed both of them.
i'm living for this weekend,, just look at them all!!!!!!
The princess diaries, 2001
i’d rather have rainbow capitalism then living in constant fear of discovery. the woman in the pride flag disney t-shirt might be missing the nuance, but at least i know i can be myself. a street full of rainbow flags makes me more comfortable holding a mans hand. look. corporations aren’t your friend. they will sell to whoever will buy. but kids seeing gay everything every year is only ever a good thing, and a massive improvement in history
