@scribbleds
important.
i have a house in hudson, wisconsin. itâs a lovely little town, and my favorite part of it is a quiet, privately run bookstore downtown, called chapter 2 books. itâs small and cozy, and the owners are remarkably sweet.Â
well, a dentist bought out the building, and the beautiful little bookstore is being forced to vacate by the end of the month.Â
luckily, thereâs a petition here, on change.org, to give them more time to organize the moving process. it would mean worlds to me if you could take a minute to sign and another minute to reblog.Â
i cannot stress how wonderful of a store this is, and how much it deserves the extra time.
Douglas Adams is the best when it comes to describe characters
we need to teach classes on Douglas Adams analogies okay
âHe leant tensely against the corridor wall and frowned like a man trying to unbend a corkscrew by telekinesis.â
"The Galaxy, which had been enjoying a period of unusual peace and prosperity at the time, reeled like a man getting mugged in a meadow.â
"it was a deep, hollow malevolent voice which sounded like molten tar glurping out of a drum with evil on its mind.â
"Stones, then rocks, then boulders which pranced past him like clumsy puppies, only much, much bigger, much, much harder and heavier, and almost infinitely more likely to kill you if they fell on you.â
"âŠÂ a large and voluminous creature who looked like someone losing a fight with a pink duvet âŠâ
"He screwed up his face and then dropped his head forward, shaking it like someone trying to shake a coin out of a money box.â
"He gazed keenly into the distance and looked as if he would quite like the wind to blow his hair back dramatically at that point, but the wind was busy fooling around with some leaves a little way off.â
"He leapt to his feet like an author hearing the phone ringâ
"he started to stalk forward slowly and stealthily wearing a puzzled frown of concentration, like a leopard thatâs not sure whether itâs just seen a half-empty tin of cat food half a mile away across a hot and dusty plain.â
"it looked only partly like a spaceship with guidance fins, rocket engines and escape hatches and so on, and a great deal like a small upended Italian bistro.â
"If it was an emotion, it was a totally emotionless one. It was hatred, implacable hatred. It was cold, not like ice is cold, but like a wall is cold. It was impersonal, not as a randomly flung fist in a crowd is impersonal, but like a computer-issued parking summons is impersonal. And it was deadly - again, not like a bullet or a knife is deadly, but like a brick wall across a motorway is deadly.â
You forgot one of the best ones:
"The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks donât."

"Now, as you know, each and every one of you was searched upon your arrival tonight. You have a right to know why."
Inkdrops Project - âWickedâ (10.12.2013)
A personal reboot of the iconic poster for âWickedâ. This poster is amazingly well composed and recreating it with a personal twist was incredibly good training.
New cover for Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. âThe spine is screen-printed with a matchbook striking paper surface, so the book itself can be burned.â
Diana Gabaldon and George R.R. Martin are breakfast buddies
It is a unique thing to be the author of a current, on-going series of books that are suddenly being made into epic television programs. Such is the case with "Outlander" author Diana Gabaldon and "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin.
I know George Martin, I have breakfast in Santa Fe with him once a month because at this point in time, he and I are the only ones in this particular situation. (DG)

Part of me will always know Hogwarts is real Part of me is ever-waiting to hear the whirring of the TARDIS The word âRunâ Part of me insists we leave cookies out for Santa every year Part of me thinks the Avatar is out there Part of me imagines Gotham is just a city I havenât visited yet Part of me is convinced Din, Farore, and Nayru created the world Part of me thinks of my cats as kitty-pets Part of me wonders when Le Cirque des RĂȘves will be in town The other part of me shuts this part up while the normals are around
