Military AND intelligence background with enough experience to stand up to 4-star generals, and psychology training.  All this in her mid to late 20s!! Give me a break. Make the woman in her mid 30’s at least.

It’s bad enough to only describe a female character by her physical appearance and have that description be ‘something’-sexy BUT THEN to add on the ‘but doesn’t know it’ bullshite because heaven forbid a women should own her own sexuality!

Our First Look at the Amazon Warriors of Wonder Woman

Sure, Diana might already be in her costume and fighting the good fight in Batman v Superman this week, but before that, she had to be honed into one of the greatest fighters in the DC universe. Now we’ve got our first look at the women that will help her do exactly that in Wonder Woman.

So thrilled by this newly released EW photo from the upcoming Wonder Woman movie. Both Robin Wright and Connie Neilson as Wonder Woman’s aunt and mother look amazing as bad-ass warriors and both are around 50 years old.  Completely age appropriate to be the mother and aunt of the 30 year old Gal Gadot, playing Wonder Woman.

I can’t tell you how exciting it is to see two women over the age of 35 being portrayed as warriors. Strong, beautiful and age appropriate.  This is only possible because a woman, Patty Jenkins, is directing. Because if a man was at the helm of this film, Wonder Woman’s mom would be played by a 33 year old and explained away by some dumb theory of Amazons ageing differently than humans.

Let’s hope the movie lives up to the promise of this teaser photo. In the meanwhile enjoy.

On the ‘PC Police’

The next time some one launches into the tired, old PC police defense, just remember this:

“Political Correctness” is another way of saying and having common Respect for other people.  Society used to embrace having common respect until members of society who weren’t white, heterosexual, christian males started asking for it. Suddenly respect became all about ‘don’t step on my freedoms’.
