Hi, I was wondering of you could share more pictures and information on avio life cycle. I've seen few pics on your wiki and I'm interested in seeing more. Are those children Flecha and Skah? Can ypu share more pics pn their life stages from borth to adulthood?

(Will update the life cyle as and when I can get my arse in gear to draw, but yes the kids are Flecha and Skah!!)

Hi, I've read all your books and went through your wiki. O was wondering of you could share some information on Flecha and Skah. I've seen pics of them and I'd really like to know more about their personalities, theor relationship as siblings and anything else you can share. I love macaws, their sicj a beautiful birds.

Skah and Flecha are two of my oldest OCs and Pre-Stormbite (made in like 2006-2008) along with Rex and Maira. They were part of a chaotically written series that I was writing as a tween/teen, which I have since started to incoporate and revive them into Stormbite because I didn't want to just let them go.

I no longer have a lot of artwork of them as I have migrated across so many platforms and not kept my saves from old PCs of their development beyond the very first picture which somehow managed to survive it all.

A lot of Flecha's story arc was transformed into Malana's story arc (if you've read Stormbite then you know how it goes with Malana's family (I'm sorry Skah and her two younger sisters who i cant remember the name of)), where she gets taken in and adopted.

Even though Flecha and Skah aren't in Stormbite/Compass yet, they will be at somepoint when I finally settle on a redesigned look for them both, but personality wise they haven't really changed all that much.

Flecha - A flying rainbow-monkey-puma with the personality of a Mai Tai cocktail (sweet but leads you into bad decisions if you get carried away with her) who is outrageously strong and a menace if left alone bored for too long.

Skah - The quiet sensible one who is very sensetive and gentle and unnasuming but is as up-to-no-good and sly as his sister but is just better at getting away with it.

How large would the wingspan of a type-7 avio based on a wandering albatross be? And also, would they be able to take off without a running start?

Wingspans for one base vary a lot (even between twins). Just because the base is a wandering albatross doesnt mean that they might be the largest windspan going, there are small proportions and large proportions (depending on design and also growth factors).

With the only remaining T7-Avio based on an albatross: Helios, he's about in the averagely proportioned category.

Still. It might not necissarily need to be a running start. It could just be minimal effort, wings out and let the wind lift you up like a trampoline in the wind.

I read Sirocco to prep. Read it all in one day, due to enjoying it and flight delays as I was traveling! Ironic, really.

Hi, I'm a huuuuuge fan of your books amd you're doing amazing job with them ❤️ I'm making an oc and considering doing small fanfic in the avio universe. I've saw a part pf your stormbite wiki, where you mentioned avios are from egg and theor eaely development stages.y questions is, if the avio was born from egg in captivity, away from others, how would they learn to fly? On their own? Is it like coded in their dna or they would need help from other avio?

As for the question:

Lets say that an ittybitty Avio baby was taken away after birth/hatching (depending on how they were designed/if they're a 1st generation or 2nd generation or not, or transhuman etc) and never had any interactions with any other Avios in learning to fly, they'd still go through all the developmental stages of growth. They'd develop feathers, start learning to move the wings the same way as you'd learn how to move your arms and learn fine motor skills with them because they are limbs.

So on an innate level: Yes they would try to learn to fly.

It's when they get to the childhood milestone of begining to learn to fly that would be the make-or-break point, because learning to fly requires dedication and effort. Instinct may be there, but it goes nowhere if the individual isnt willing to develop themselves. Wings (and their coresponding muscles across the body) need toning and strengthening, and the brain needs to develop in order to make the connections between sensory inputs and bodily reactions and outputs. It'd be daily practice, the same as if you were learning to run, or swim, or ride a bike. Learning to fly well might need some adult guidance, but a lazy or overly anxious or fearful Avio might never want or try to fly.
