I don't even know if half of you watch The Outer Banks but I want to tag byler and jjpope just so this reaches more people!! JJs character is so complex and interesting to watch. His character could also be more interesting if he were queer! And I'm not saying that he has to have a crush on Pope, but if they made his character queer it would be such good representation! Even if they made him gay! We need more shows and movies to show that gay doesn't automatically mean feminine. Many gay men don't dress feminine at all, they are just themselves. It also makes me feel kind of bad for those who are gay because of this! When people hear the word "Gay", their minds automatically go to makeup and nails and crop tops and all these things, and I'm NOT saying that they are bad but I'm just saying that if there was more masculine gay men rep, that would be great! And this is why I am mentioning JJ. In OBX their aren't really any queer characters. 1- I think that's unrealistic and 2- Out of six people, someone atleast should be apart of the LGBTQ community. Now here are some parts that could imply that JJ is a closeted gay/queer man. In season 1 when John B tells him that whenever he sees a girl breathing he wants her or whatever, that could imply that JJ just wants to keep up a reputation that shows that he's into girls because of those who are homophobic in a way (EX: Kooks (some), His dad (Idk he could be)). Or when he kisses Pope's cheek, that could imply that he indeed has a crush on Pope, but he wants to he subtle about it. In all, I just want more rep for our community. <3
