Eden took a breath and gently smiled. “Hard to be in a bad mood? Because of all the excitement?” She pressed her lips together. “I’m fine, I heard about the most recent attack… I think it has everyone on edge.” 

“Yeah, that.” At the mention of the attack, he sighed, rocking back on his feet. It wasn’t something he was personally affected by, but it was still difficult not to feel... some sort of way about it. “Can’t blame them. It’s not... good,” he finished lamely, aware of the understatement.

“No..I-…” She took a breath and shook her head. “How are things with you Scorpius?” She asked trying to be friendly. 

He hadn’t really been upset about it, but he was surprised by her sudden question. “Uh,” he started, an awkward stutter, “I’m all right, I guess. It’s hard to be in a bad mood around here. And... you?”

‘Spaced out? Are you alright?’

“Yeah, I’m fine. I was just thinking. A lot to think about.” He paused awkwardly. It seemed odd to mention thinking about the newest muggleborn family, dead, and he didn’t really want to talk about it more than he had to. “Uh, how’re you liking the World Cup?”

“Oh-…” The girl stopped when she realized it was Scorpius. “I thought this was someone else’s tent..”

Of course she did. He shouldn’t have expected anything else. “Sorry to disappoint, then,” he said, shrugging.

“Aw, but I’d much rather cuddle with you, James.”

‘Not really, just..er… You sat down next to me and, well, didn’t greet, so I figured I did something to upset you and so I asked.’

“Right. You’re fine, I was just... spaced out. Don’t worry about it.”

“Has anyone seen my sister around?” Molly glanced around. There was a huge crowd all around her, but no one had the same red hair as her. Molly would much rather be wandering that forest at the edge of the campsite. It looked a lot more exciting then searching around a crowd for her sister.

Molly knew her sister could take care of herself, but after she had been gone for a few hours, their father tasked Molly to go find her. She didn’t plan on actually spending all of her time looking for Lucy. The younger Weasley could find her own way around. But Molly was at least going to try and ask around. “Same hair as me, but younger, and, sadly, taller.”

Considering that he’d spent most of his time not taking notice of anyone, avoiding the crowd to the best of his ability, Scorpius really was not the expert on the locations of lost siblings. He wasn’t entirely sure he could see the right way back to his own tent, never mind a missing head of red hair, but he sighed regardless and peered over the heads of those surrounding them. It occurred to him that he could’ve simply ignored her -- it was more likely she was addressing anyone within earshot rather than him specifically -- but by the time he realized that, Scorpius was already shrugging as if in defeat.

“Sorry, no,” he said, raising his voice higher than was comfortable to speak over the noise of the congregation. “You’re the only redhead I see around.” He was ready to leave right then and there, though he hesitated from going forward when all that lead to was the middle of the horde. Scorpius rocked back on his heels, looking behind him in a last-ditch attempt to search for her sister and finding nothing. He didn’t care as much as he didn’t want to deal with being pushed back and forth within the mass of wizards and witches. “Maybe she’s somewhere else,” he suggested lamely.

Albus was enjoying the fresh air out here. He was sitting just outside his family’s tent, a book in hand. Every once in a while he’d look up to watch the people passing by. There really were people of all ages, types, colours, sizes… He enjoyed the atmosphere. The sense of unity that Quidditch was the one thing that every single person here had in common. Not one for engaging in parties and roughhousing, however, Albus was perfectly content to remain in his little bubble, thought he knew it wouldn’t be long for someone came to bother him.

Normally, Scorpius was the type to avoid engaging whenever possible, especially when he could tell that the other person preferred not to be disturbed; after all, he was often the same way. But it was awkward simply standing there, alone, attempting to avoid returning to his own tent but having little reason to stay away from it. If nothing else, Albus was a familiar face, which he supposed counted for something, though left him feeling no more comfortable than before. “Hey,” he started stiffly, arms rigid by his sides. “What’re you reading?”

The brunette paced back and forth outside a tent as she waited. “Finally… what took you so long?” She asked.

Scorpius arched an eyebrow in response. “I wasn’t aware I was being waited for,” he said, void of emotion, lifting a shoulder in nonchalance.

“Was that supposed to mean we can’t leave the campsite until the World Cup is over?”

“Were you planning on leaving anyway?”

‘Are you upset or something? You haven’t said a word, and I’ve been sitting here for ten minutes.’

“Uh, no. Sorry. Did you need something?”

“Actually, not really everyone.” James said with a smug smile, purposefully taking Scorpius’s reply literally. “If everyone was here, I’m pretty sure it would be a lot more packed than it already is.”

“Wow.” Scorpius remained outwardly impassive, attempting to stem his growing irritation. “You must feel pretty intelligent. A new feeling for you?”

“That was a grand mistake on your part. Doubting me will always end up in you being wrong; remember that.” She intoned, speaking seriously as if this were a vital piece of information. “That would be my title, yes.” Dom slowly grinned and nodded, mentally locking away the term to use in the face of arguments with her cousins. Let them argue with the expert of fun on anything, they would lose. “How are you at drinking, Scorpius?”

“Oh, of course. I’ll never forget it.” Scorpius smiled slightly, turning his head to the left. He wasn’t exactly friends with Dominique, but at the very least, there was something about her that was always mildly entertaining. It made talking less of a strain than usual, not that he would ever vocalize that. “Decent, I guess. Is that your game this time?”

James looked at Scorpius and raise a brow. He knew that not everyone would share the same level of excitement and enthusiasm for the sport, but they could at least try to be during the World Cup.

 “If you don’t think Quidditch matters, then why the hell are you even here?” He said before a quick roll of his eyes.

“Everyone’s here,” he said, deadpan, and lifted a single shoulder in a shrug. It wasn’t exactly a lie -- he was mostly here by virtue of his mother’s insistence, but that wasn’t a detail anyone really needed to know. “Don’t take what I say so seriously. Are you thinking Bulgaria or not?”
