“B-begging your pardon, but this is normal English.” Though he tone almost scared him, he wasn’t exactly one to back down from a fight. Using Magic on muggles was something he’d never do the only fight he ever considered himself to be in was when he had to hit a dragon with a travelling kettle. “Seventeen hundreds? That’s absurd... I’m sure you are mistaken and you were supposed to say nineteen hundreds. 1926 to be exact.”

“Oh, well you mentioned it so I assumed it was s-safe to mention.” Newt withdrew into himself slightly, his gaze just meeting hers. “I was just interested because I’ve never heard of such a place so I was curious to found out some more. Is that alright?”

“D-does your husband often have foul moods?” Newt asked without really thinking about the question. Truth be told he was a little worried that she was left alone to carry so much alcoholic beverages by herself.

Newt was in London, on his way to his job at the Ministry of Magic, and now he was laying on his back; his suitcase wide open in the middle of nowhere. He quickly scurried towards his case, closing it with some force, looking around the area for any creatures that may have got loose. He pulled himself from the floor, rushing towards the closest person he could find. “E-excuse me, might I enquirer as to where I am?”

Newt smiled at the other, though at the mention of magic, his interest was peeked. Could it be he’d stumbled onto another Witch or Wizard? “The way I see it, if you will. We’ve awoken here, there is no way back. There are so many weird and wonderful things to seek. For instance, I saw a woman the last night, she was talking into a small little square; and then a voice replied to her. How fascinating!” It may not be magical beasts, which he still had in the suitcase at his side, but this world was certainly interesting.

newt’s actions STARTLE him for a moment, human contact still an unfamiliar and foreign territory for him, as long as it wasn’t used to inflict PAIN. only moments he later he instead melted into the touch, savoring every second. it was different to the hug he shared with mr. graves – - it was much more of an embrace he could ESCAPE from if that’s what he desired. less CONTROLLING. it was something he could only notice NOW, now that he experienced more. strangely the thought didn’t upset him. much more, he told himself to stop comparing these two. so far newt hasn’t given him a reason to DOUBT him. his promises weren’t connected to anything HE had to do – - it was just genuine kindness. or so he believed. in the end he probably wasn’t the best JUDGE of someone’s character. those unshed tears burning in his eyes, he fought against the lump in his throat. there were many words he wanted to say, of GRATITUDE and APPRECIATION, but he didn’t know how. “ – - thank you… newt. ” he haltered before speaking his name, but he felt like it was RIGHT. he trusted him, he truly did.

A soft smile appeared on Newt’s lips when the other seemingly melted into him. He knew it was a risky move just suddenly hugging Credence like that. Truth be told, Newt was unsure of how to help him now; this world wasn’t exactly the same. He was afraid of disappointing him now, he was afraid he would lose him again. Yet, he couldn’t let Credence know he was afraid. A small choked gasp passed his lips as Newt continued to embrace the boy for as long as he so desired. Credence was free to pull away at any point in time. Newt didn’t want to be the one to break it up; he wanted Credence to know that he had full control, that Newt wasn’t going to force him to do ANYTHING. “Credence, you don’t need to thank me.” Newt had done nothing to be thanked for, he failed Credence once, he was afraid to do it again.
