"Where are all the lads and lassie’s at? I think it’s time this school had a party, y’know a little bit of a soirée. Things are getting a bit stale around these parts.”
Just like that they were back in reality narrowing her eyes at him she for once didn’t pull back. “You said you’re not in the place to deny my request, which means you’re not going to. Which also means if I find out you do, do anything to him I will give you so many detentions they’ll revoke my badge.”
Scorpius watched her jawline clench, tightening. Her entire visage appeared firm and taut. "Alight, alight. I'll play by your rules. But please, tell me you don't still have feelings for that mangy twat. That would completely blow my image of you, red." He was half-joking, wearing a lop-sided grin.
Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy before their third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
Albus jumped slightly at the sound of the familiar voice closing in behind him, his gaze locking onto the blonde boy as he sunk into the sofa. “I swear you were a snake in your past life, you’re sneaky as hell.” he exclaimed running a hand through his lengthy black hair. “C’mon.. we both know I can’t drink as much as yo—” he found himself cut off why the sound of the two shot glasses being placed down, the booze filling them to the rim. “Fine..” Albus laughed under his breath, leaning forward and picking up his drink. He was well aware arguing with the Prince wasn’t worth it.
"Cheers!"
"A fucking snake? ----
I'm a lion, mate. Hop on board, will ya?" He sputtered a violent laugh, throwing his shot glass up into the air to meet his friend halfway. "Tonight, we drink until you tell me what's on your mind, ya hear?" Scorpius knocked the whiskey back, slamming the empty glass back down onto the table and sighing outwards with a hiss-- expelling the taste of gasoline from his throat. "One more, eh? I reckon that'll get you talking."
She rested her hand on his arm, thumb stroking his skin twisting her lips disgruntledly as she looked up at him. There were moments she found Scorpius Malfoy annoying, then there were moments she swore she could hate him if she wanted to. Moments when he pushed hair behind her ear, acted sweet while still keeping that jerk-ish edge that was enough to make her smile slightly unwillingly. “I don’t want him to suffer. I feel bad for him. Which means no going and tormenting him either go it?” She sent him a warning look.
"I can't say I'm really in any position to deny your request, -- .."
This was absolutely true. On every level. From this angle, he could see every god-given freckle on the girl's face. They'd faded, but hell if they weren't just as precious as the first day he'd seen her. And the blush that had settled on her cheeks. Though 'blush' wasn't the right word. It wasn't a redness that came from embarrassment or flattery-- but rather a flush that had roots in agitation and frustration. Something that stemmed from uncertainty-- when Rose didn't have her usual hold over the rotation of the world. OK, Scorpius-- clear your head and finish your sentence. "But it certainly won't be easy. And you know me-- I don't go around making promises. Ergo-- don't be surprised if they dig up his dead, rotting body in the Forbidden Forest."
Albus glanced around with the shot in hand, his eyes scanning the Common room. Scorpius said he’d be back by now. Shaking his head he shrugged softly and downed the firewhiskey shot, his eyes clenching shut as he managed to hold the taste.
"Disgusting." he mumbled as he went to pour himself another. After the unexpected week he’d had, he deserved many a few drinks.
Scorpius scaled the steps of the staircase, descending into the Slytherin Common Room."Don't tell me you've started without me, Potter boy." The blond boy scolded with mock disappointment, throwing his body limply onto the leather couch, sitting beside Albus. "Since I didn't see it, it doesn't count. Therefore.... you'll have to make up for it. Sorry, mate. I don't make the rules-- nor do I plan on fucking with them. So.. Drink up." Scorpius grinned humorously, lining up the two shot glasses, as he topped them with the bronze liquid.
"Do I sense…jealousy?"
"Jealous? --
That's fucking rich, avy." He took a step forward, something in his features screamed out as a warning. "Worry, concern... maybe a little bit of d i s g u s t. Those are some of the things you should be sensing, princess." He hung his head, scoffing. "The thought of those slimy lips of yours getting anywhere near his, is nearly vomit inducing. Hell-- they almost grazed mine about half a minute before your confession." The boy wiped his mouth dramatically against the back of his hand, wearing a look of disgust. "You don't fool me, OK Ava? Let's get that fact straight. You can't fool me. I know you. And if you hurt Albus, or dispose of him-- maim him in any way... and I swear on my mother's life I'll bury you. Don't.Fuck.With.Me."
Ava pulled away, taking a step back. “I—no. This isn’t right, Scorpius. I—I have feelings for Albus.” She confessed, looking down at her feet. Ava looked up, meeting his gaze.
"I just wanted you to know. We’ve been friends for years—the three of us—and I thought you deserved that knowledge.” A smirk crossed her lips. “We both know I won’t care if you approve or not, but as one of my closest friends…” She trailed off. “You know where I’m going with this, don’t you?”
"Oh, Ava---- princess. What makes you think I'd give a rat's arse, hm?" He was wearing a grin, and something in those upturned lips showed amusement-- he was enjoying this. "Give 'im a good twirl, will ya? Maybe peel off his chastity belt? ----
But, eh-- be gentle, darling. He's one of them fragile boys. Like one of them fine fuckin' China sets."
She glared at him green eyes narrowing as she reached forwards shoving him slightly her hand pressed against his chest. “I always fight with you, Don’t be a jerk.” She hissed blowing a few strands of her red hair out of her face that always managed to get in the way no matter how she tied it. “He started making plans. It was OWL year, so I guess the future was on his mind and suddenly it was, what do you want to be? What do you want in the future? What kind of wedding? How many kids?” Her hand slowly tightened on his shirt with every word before she was turning away again. Pacing the ground before her. “I mean who asks that?!”
Scorpius gauged her intensity, her frustration. He was dealing with a side of Rose even he couldn't provoke -- and that was saying something. Her grip loosened and the boy let out a breath, a breath that he couldn't even recall holding in. "Well he's an idiot. Not to mention-- he looks like a total chav." He placed a large hand over her shoulder, helping to steady her tedious pacing. "I mean, I thought someone like you would have better taste." A smirk surfaced. His other hand floated upwards, tucking wisps of red hair behind the curve of her ear. "He'll live the rest of his miserable life knowing he shooed away the smartest, snobbiest, most batshit girl around Hogwarts. Trust me, it'll be punishment enough."

"He didn’t do anything, we just fought all the time, or I think I just wanted to fight with him and he was so much of a pushover. I just broke up with him and never gave him an explanation and I’m not looking forward to seeing him again." She rambled on pulling them down a side hallway finally releasing the tall blonde as she began to pace. "He was just so sentimental!" She shouted raking her fingers through her hair.
"You want someone to fight with?
---- then fight with me." He prompted, edging forward, towards the daintier of the pair. They were now in a secluded corner of the school, their voices seeming larger now. "Sentimental, eh? Sounds like he might've been a queer boy. Am I wrong?" That might be enough to elicit a fight out of Rose. "Why did you leave him anyways?"
"Or maybe you could."
"You see… I have a teensy weensy problem." Ava steps closer towards him, lacing her arms around his neck. "Maybe you could solve it for me?" She whispers.
"Do you want to kiss me?" The inquiry is delivered with a smug look of amusement.
"If you act difficult, yes I will." Running into Jacob for the first time since she’d stomped over his heart as he’d described it in a letter was one thing. Running into him with Scorpius around, the cause of many of their arguments at the time that they dated would only blow things up more. "I’m fond of statistics and I’m quite frankly, pretty sure that running into an ex for the first time post break-up is the worst thing that could happen to me right now." She hurriedly explained wrapping her arms around his whilst trying to pull the Slytherin along at the quickest pace she could that was not a run.
"Ex?" The word exited the confines of his mouth before his brain had the chance to catch up. "Jacob? That manky little git." Malfoy's eyes still hadn't surfaced on the other boy. "Why? Has he done something to you, Rosie?" The fleeing inquiry was spewed as the shorter of the pair led Scorpius away from any possible altercation.
"I am doing fine.”
"Right on, then."
"Should I go on and get a 1st year to lend you a hand?"
"Stop looking around." She hissed reaching up to grab his head to stop him from grabbing the attention of her ex. "You’ll cause a scene."
"Do you plan on directing my every move?" This was a playful jab, after the redhead so hastily averted his chin. "Can't say that'd be half bad--
---- provided we had the proper setting. There's a place and a time for it, Rosie darling. Now, will you tell me what in Merlin's name is going on, please? Fer' fucks sake."
