“EXO crowned triple million-seller within just two months of the release of their 3rd album, setting yet another record.
On 9th June, EXO released their third full album ‘EX'ACT’, selling 796,085 copies (as of August 17th), and their third repackaged album ‘LOTTO’, released today (18th), has sold 374,280 copies, making for a total of 1,170,365 albums sold; thus, surpassing one million albums and establishing the group as a triple million-seller. Proving once again that they are the kings of album sales.
Previously, in 2013, EXO became the first Korean artist in 12 years to surpass one million album sales, and then again in 2015, they broke the one million sales mark with their second full album, crowning themselves as double million-sellers. And if that were no enough, their third full album, in just over 2 months, also surpassed one million sales, and the group topped various domestic and international album, online and music video charts, as well as winning ‘Daesang’ awards at various award ceremonies, demonstrating their exceptional success as global icons.
In addition, after the release of the tracks from their 3rd repackaged album on music sites last midnight, EXO’s title track ‘Lotto’ topped 8 real-time music charts, placing 1st (as of 10 o'clock) on Melon, Genie, Naver Music, Bugs!, Olleh Music, Sorobada and Monkey3, with their 4 newly recorded songs ranking right below. Conquering both the field of digital music and that of physical albums, EXO are continuing with their record-braking pace.
EXO’s music video, featuring a sensuous atmosphere which enabled the members to perfectly transform to an even more powerful look, was released today at 10 o'clock on EXO’s official homepage, SMTOWN Youtube channel and other platforms.
EXO is scheduled to begin promotions though various music programmes, stardom with KBS2TV ‘Music Bank’ on 19th August, MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ on 20th, and SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on 21st.”
