feature films i watched at the 2026 sundance film festival!
generally, these can be hit or miss (characteristic of an indie film festival, but also a huge draw of it imo), but i really enjoyed most of the films/shorts this time. everyone's talking about Josephine (which is also heading to berlinale and likely the awards season conversation ultimately), but i'd like to especially shout out Hold Onto Me and Time & Water; i hope they get the distribution they deserve!
uni has made me a ✨retired cinephile ✨ and i didn't see a single film in March... except la la land in concert!! what a treat. immediately teared up when "another day of sun" hit.
