Celebrate Songkran with S.E.A. Market
“April showers bring May flowers”, so goes the saying- or in the case of Sonkran, it brings good luck, good health, fortune, and happiness.
So, HAPPY NEW YEAR!
It is celebrated in Southeast Asian countries, including Laos, Burma, and Thailand.
Songkran, also known as The Water Festival, is the New Years celebration that happens throughout Southeast Asia. Locals and tourists alike, come together during the 3-day long festivity, spraying and pouring water on each other, in hopes of ridding their bodies of last year’s woes, as well as purifying their mind, body, and spirit for the upcoming year.
Chef Zaina Dell’Aquila, an internationally recognized New York City chef, well-diversed in many culinary background, suggested we make Khao Piek Sen to celebrate the New Year. And having celebrated Songkran in Asia, Chef Zaina knew what she was talking about!
Khao Piek Sen is a rice noodle dish in a chicken broth.
All ingredients were supplied by us, the one and only, S.E.A. Market.
