Kay so the sea monkeys made it all the way down to the coast in their box now
But I was just adjusting my laptop and knocked over their tank I mean after ALL THS WAY
they're okay though, just kinda ruffled in the way they're swimming all over now (the lid was on thank god)
Poor sea monkeys =C
So I moved out from uni yesterday (cries forever), and actually managed to get back the sea monkeys to home in one piece, despite the 100-odd miles home! Pleased with that one =)
However, I forgot to bring them the next step of the journey down to the coast, where I'm working over the summer. Shit. No updates for a while until my parents bring them down. I managed to remember their food though! >.<
Day idk-can't-remember-again
So the sea monkeys are big enough to count how many I have in total, and that'd be 6! They've been mating a couple of times this week though so I might have some more soonish, which'd be nice because the tanks quite big for only a few. It's looking kinda gross and algae-y at the moment though, which kinda detracts from the niceness of having them sitting on my windowsill. =C
She needs a name; she’s the biggest one in the tank!
FattyBum.

they all died
Aw damn
Day 19
Poured a bit more water into the tank today because it's been sitting in the sun and had gone down a surprising amount. The sea monkeys got very excited when I did this, swimming round really fast- I fed them today and they did the same thing, which was pretty cool. They're getting quite big now, and you can see them all the time in their tank!
Day 13: Babies are now big enough to see swimming around from the bed, and there are definitely more tiddly ones than there were a couple of days ago! Get to feed them again tomorrow =)
Yesterday night I had a dream that their jar accidentally got knocked off my windowsill, and spilled all over the floor. I tried to rescue them and filled their jar up with tap water again, but I think they all copped it =C Really hoping that won't happen IRL.
I'm gonna make sea monkeys super-fun!
Day uh, 11?
Sea monkeys don't really do anything blog-worthy. There are at least 4-5 in the tank now, and they're getting big enough to see swimming around without having to press my face against the side of their tub. Tomorrow is feeding day!
Day 6
The sea monkeys are actually big enough to see them swimming around in their tank now! They got fed last night for the first time.
Babies, babies everywhere
So when I got back from uni today there were at least 7 babies! The warm sunshine windowsill spot worked =D Now to watch them get bigger and swim round and round in circles.
My first sea monkey hatched today!
I thought I was seeing things until I saw it pootling around again after losing it once already. It's super-tiny. Hopefully some more will hatch today as I left their jar on the windowsill in the warm sunshine =)
So, after getting my sea monkeys in the post and filling up their new tank-slash-old-peanut-butter-jar, I did the wait-24-hours you're supposed to do before adding the actual sea monkey eggs. So now I have a jar of water mixed with sea monkey eggs and something that turns the water a rather nice turquoise colour, but no sea monkeys to be seen yet.
I'm thinking that I've not got sea monkeys yet either because:
1. The water's not warm enough, so I left it on the windowsill in the sunshine today
2. There's too much water in the jar, which dilutes the special mixture stuff. Apparently you have to let the water evaporate a bit and they'll hatch eventually, but that might take a bit of time because I really did fill it up too much =S
3. I might be being blind; there are little white things rising in the jar, but they're so tiny they could be bubbles or baby sea monkeys. We'll wait and see.
Until then I'm probably going to just post amusing sea monkey related things, or sad pictures of my empty jar of water.
Here we go!
Sea monkeys haven't gotten here still yet, but perhaps they'll be at home once I'm back from uni at the end of today. Instead, a little bit of art.
