A brindle foal, another example of a rare coloring on horses. While in some horses the pattern seems to be inherited, there is no evidence yet that their is an actual gene that causes brindle patterns. There could be a link to chimerism, with the color being expressed by two different sets of horse coat color genes.

To get through the hiatus between chapters fourteen and fifteen of holmesianpose’s fantastic fic Over Fathoms Deep, I listen to this.
