People ask me why I choose yellow and it's a lot deeper than the primary colors vibrance. To me that's a representation of the sun on the Filipino flag. It's the light that shines above us as the red and blues for war and peace fight all around. It's the color of my race. It's the ownership of whatever stereotypes and acknowledging its exuberance. It's the establishing of the sureness of one's self. It reminds me of being of the earth. The warmth on my skin. That saturation. My yellow and brown and pink and the blues. In my sadness and happiness that color doesn't change. It's the base. Everything after is blended into each other. Soft strokes and harsh black lines of permanence and assertiveness. Pop.
