‘ Oh I see.’ A fellow flower lover was always welcome. ‘ Well I actually grow most of the flowers myself. I bought a place with a large space out back so I could. It’s— pretty much a jungle out there.’ It helped with you could– you know, grow plants pretty much at will.

     “ Really, you grow them yourself? That’s amazing, I do the same thing! ” Should she be gushing so much over her competition? Probably not, but there weren’t many that truly appreciated the delicate species like she did. Of course, it was her life. “ May I see your garden? ”

             kai had to admit, it was pleasant being met with laughter instead of shrieks of shear terror. so placing an elbow to the floor & flopping his head into his palm the lengthy-haired boy flashed a brazen smirk toward the other. ❛ my guy, in life you gotta make your own path, be your own guide, use a window instead of a door, y’know ? “life’s an adventure” — or whatever the fuck the inspirational poster in my mom’s kitchen says. ❜

     “ That’s true, but if you end up a little lost it’s nice to have someone who knows the way. ” Words were followed by a wink out of playfulness. Kai leaned on the counter covered in pamphlets and brochures for various hiking trails and some nearby amusement park. 

      “ So what strange wind brought you through my window? Wait! Let me guess, you’re running from your ex who wants to kill you. Or you just like bursting through open windows for the dramatic effect. ” The boy was amusing, funny even. He’d be fun to hang out with, get in trouble with. “ I’m Kai by the way, born and living by the way of the Sun and Sea. ”

         “I don’t think that’s for you to judge, considering you don’t know me.” Of course, she didn’t have a very imposing presence. “I’m an experienced hiker, alright? Nature is my best friend!” She made a kitten’s paw and softly growled at him. “So you’d better be on your best behavior, boy. You don’t know who you’re dealing with.” Was that a bit much? Probably.

     “ You’re right, sorry. You just don’t look like the type of girl that I’ve taken on that hike before. ” Her reactions were very, unfiltered. It posed the question, did she think before saying or doing anything? Not that it was a bad thing, it made people more fun to be around at times. It was hard to have a good time when everyone second guessed themselves. 

     “ Well, if you’re ready, let’s go! Lots of fun and adventures await us. ” Smile lit his face as he nodded his head to the door, insinuating she should head out first. “ I promise I’ll behave, I lay my job on the line! ” That was saying a lot, he loved this job.

There was something to love about them all.

REMEMBER KIDS !!   some very important relationships are PLATONIC.   some are maternal, paternal, friendships, siblingships.   they do not all have to revolve around romantic/sexual attraction.   please don’t ever think that i wouldn’t write with you if you didn’t want to bring a romantic/sexual ship to the table.              kai’s evening had entailed a bit of a chase. there’d been a ‘situation’ & as per-usual the boy wasn’t exactly up for suffering through the consequences. so, in a typically successful attempt at losing those on his tail, kai scaled the side of a building down the nearest alleyway, entering a window to nowhere in particular. such an abrupt entry came with a fumble that left his face to catch his fall — usually he was much more agile. ❛ nailed it ❜ he mumbled, unfazed as he peeled his face off the ground; not quite yet making an effort to rise from the floor.

     “ Well, hello there. I’m assuming you entered through the window because you DON’T need a trail guide. ” A deep laugh erupted from the season as he watched the kid face plant on the floor and just remain there. In fact, it was the funniest thing he’d seen all day.

‘ Do you need any help finding any flower in particular ?’

     “ I actually own a flower shop, and have a garden. I was wondering who your supplier is? ” The flowers were rather beautiful, and she was only curious. She loved to visit other flower shops, talking with those that loved plants as much as she did.

     Her feisty attitude was refreshing, not something Kai saw in girls often. Instantly he liked her. “ I guess that means I’ll have to BEHAVE too. ” Words were followed by a chuckle. “ I was only making sure that was the trail you really wanted to go on, it’s kinda difficult. ”
