Shall I tell you something, Paul? There you see the result of your handiwork as much as mine. Oh, yes, I gave him life. I put a brain in his head, but I chose a good brain, a brilliant one. It was you who damaged it. You who put a bullet in the wretched thing. This is your fault, Paul.
THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1957) dir. Terence Fisher
I'm alive but barely!
love is just: "how was your day?" "i made extra for you" "i saw this and thought you'd love it, i couldn't resist" "thank you for cleaning" "im here for you" "what do you want for dinner?" "do you need anything from the store?" "no, i want to help you" "let me brush your hair >:(" "do you wanna come with me?" "im here. im not leaving" "i can't imagine a world without you"
A drawing from a book by the French physician Paul Regnard, 1884.
what they don't tell you about your mother dying is how every relation you never knew you had will come to the apartment, look befuddled at your comportment as they didn't know she had a son, and then after you make them your tea they will ask for the jewels and the art and the clothes and and and
what they don't tell you about your mother dying is your father will remarry within the year, far away from you, and he won't be back until after his honeymoon (you ruined his first one, you see, by virtue of being born)
what they don't tell you about your mother dying is that her wedding dress hangs in the back of the walk in closet, and she'd really hoped you'd wear it when you got married, but besides being a boy you're single because the stupid boy-- who said he broke up with his last boyfriend for you-- can't come to the apartment without feeling 'attacked' or 'depressed' what they don't tell you about your mother dying is that it's like you're on the funeral pyre with her, you can't fucking read or watch anything for all the flames and smoke. you're bored and panicked and manic and still, you didn't need your parents and you didn't want their approval but you're the kindling for the cremation.
I feel so silly I've followed a bunch of you because I thought the Alec you were stanning was the one from Maurice but this Alec is from the Charioteer, a book I have not read but need to ? I feel so silly
dark sappho like 'mother i can weave- Aphrodite has told me to forget that bitch'
if you describe your own or other media as 'wholesome' as if that's a good thing and not actually the worst!
less about 'wholesome' - that is bread packaged in a supermarket made of derived nutrients so refined they became carcinogens
and fuck off with your nostalgia
'the book i wish i'd had when I was a kid' what about the book you need now?
the child you were is fucking dead and you can't nurse a fucking corpse
more about 'childlike'
'unburdened by the constraints of my flawed society'
'making new happiness for other people'
if you describe your own or other media as 'wholesome' as if that's a good thing and not actually the worst!

every time Benedict Cumberbatch has ever played a role, know Jonny Lee Miller should have done it and would have been better, if he hasn't already

update on father: he is MOVING and he is NOT PLANNING ON COMING BACK
I don't know whether to plan a blow out party or change the locks on the apartment first this is spectacular, i feel like a sixty year old woman in a movie about her great second act
