11. Do you have specific playlists for writing fics?

I used to, but I gave up on it because the songs didn't always match the vibe of what I was writing and I would get too distracted 😅 Now I just put on one of my playlists that matches the vibe of what I'm writing...unless I forget to change it. I'll never forget the time I was knee-deep in smut editing and realized Julien Baker had been playing for the last 30 minutes 😭

13. How much planning do you do before writing?

Not much typically! If I have an idea, I usually just start writing it and see where it goes, otherwise I'll get stuck in my head and won't end up getting anything down on paper. The bones of my fics can change drastically from the first draft to the final one!

3. What’s your favorite fic that you’ve written?

I really want to say "I like them all differently!" like they're my children 😅 I would say I'm especially proud of michigan's in the rear-view now because it was my first deviation from True Colors, and let me touch you where i want to (there, there, there, there, there) because it was the first smut I posted!

18. What’s one of your favorite lines you’ve written in a fic?

From changes, I like how I wrote Alex reconciling her grief around Gabe with the love they had for each other :') The Chen siblings make me WEEP

She felt the weight of his love, tangled up in the spider web of grief. He was the boy who helped her stick glow-in-the-dark stars to her bedroom ceiling. The teenager who carried her on his back when she twisted her ankle walking home from school. The man who brought her here, who gave her a new life, who wanted to know her again. Her brother would always be her brother, because they were tied together. Even in silence. Even in death.

14. If you could see one of your fics adapted into a visual medium, such as comic or film, which fan fic would you pick?

OOOH okay I really had to think about this one. A lot of my fics exist in the gaps of time that we don't see in True Colors, so it's hard for me to pick 😅 I think I'd go with spit the blood back, baby. The first time I played TC, I was really disappointed that we didn't get to see any of the aftermath following Jed's confession, and I think getting that visually would have been really compelling!

What do you think about Ryan cutting Gabe's rope?

I think it's a choice both he and Alex will replay in their head's for the rest of their lives, but realistically, I think that was the only "good" option in a really bad situation.

Because realistically if Ryan didn't cut the rope, Alex either would have been pulled over the cliff because of Gabe's weight, been crushed by falling rock, or Alex AND Ryan would have been crushed trying to save Gabe, and Ethan would be left on the mountain alone. Neither one of them had enough time to pull Gabe to safety and take cover, so there was just no good options.

I think Gabe was unsavable the second he went over the ledge, and all Ryan could realistically do was save Alex.

I still think it's insane that Ryan cutting the rope only really matters in Episode 2 though. Cutting the rope is probably one of the top ten most heavy decisions someone in a LIS game has made, and it feels very brushed over even though realistically I feel like that choice would have weighed harder on Ryan and Alex. I almost wish Alex had a choice to be mad or at least distant with him over the rope just for the angst of it all. And I wish cutting the rope factored more into Ryan's character in general. It's kind of crazy that he had to kill his best friend to save his best friends sister, and that just, doesn't really matter after Episode 2.

I need to know what Steph thinks about Chloe managing Drugstore Makeup post-Reunion lol

Anon I'm so glad you brought this up because I was thinking about it through the entirety of Reunion 😅

I think, in all honesty, it would be awkward for both of them, lmao

(I haven't read the comics in a while, and I know they see each other in those, but I also know those exist in another timeline so I'm just using the context provided by the games)

When Steph and Alex play foosball in True Colors, Alex asks how long Steph played with her band, and Steph sighs and says "too long," so there are obviously still some feelings there (understandable, and I'm sure it's the same for Izzie as well)

NOW, by the time Reunion rolls around, in my hc timeline, Alex and Steph have already done the touring thing, gotten married, and settled down, so I doubt she thinks about it too much. When she learns Chloe is managing Drugstore Makeup, it's probably like, "okay, that's cool, but did it have to be DM?" type of situation. I mean, I would definitely feel awkward if my high school friend started managing the band I was in with my ex 😭

I'm not sure if Chloe genuinely doesn't know Steph was part of Drugstore Makeup or if the writers just didn't think to include any type of footnote about it, because when Chloe talks about her nerd friends Steph and Mikey, I get the vibe she hasn't heard from or talked to them since those years. Maybe Izzie talks about the old drummer (and maybe even refers to her as Steph) and Chloe just doesn't connect the dots, which I can absolutely see happening 😅 Then one day sees an old picture (I'm imagining the one of Izzie and Steph outside of the Lantern with their tour sign), does a double take and is like "what the fuck, Steph Gingrich?"

It's definitely something they can laugh about in the future, but yeah, the moment they both find out, it's super awkward. I would absolutely love to see a post-Reunion....reunion, where they reach out and reconnect!! And rope Mikey in as well :'))) old buddies
