Broken Fingers
I broke my fingers, I snapped each other and watched as they dangle on my hand. I tried to wiggle them but the sharp pain pulled me back to what I did. So I simply flailed my hand back and forth to watch them move. Deep black and blue shadowed my complexion and freckles. Blood filled the cracks of my skin as I slit each one. One after other as after breaking them there was no other option but to deem them useless. With the bone exposed I pointed and experienced with them, I let them wrap around my throat and give me the pain back that I have caused. I let them slap and bruise me just as badly as anything I’ve done to them. Slowly I laid them on the floor neatly, watching what them would do next knowing fully well that they won’t. Knowing that my hand will develop a nauseatingly dark green color and begin to riot like my fingers are starting to do now. Decay settling into my fingers like it is it’s home and it’s just come from it’s 9 to 5. Yelling to the wife to get it a beer when it’s legs work perfectly fine. Blood still oozing from my fingers just as a freshly started bath, my blood mocking the warmth of the water as well. It makes a mess of the floor and dirties the carpet. I try not to play attention to it though, my mind only hyper-focused on now the pain arriving in my hand. A loud thumping in my ears as if all of the doors are slamming in the house again and the pain shatters my ribcage. I’m sucking in air but with my lung on the brink of collapsing; it’s getting difficult. It’s like when you are trying to drink a thick smoothie through a straw but the straw is very thin and bent into the word ‘yay’. Soon the blood from my hand made a small puddle on the floor that linked with the finger’s, the last time they would be joined in any way possible. Looking down the thick red liquid yelled from the floor, it screamed at me and I feel my skin grew cold from it. It boiled and bubbled up at me to remind me what I did to deserve this, my heart hurts and becomes sensitive. Soon blood is not the only liquid coming from my body. Tears drizzle and mix in with the blood, the salt reacting to the copper. I look up and watch you rush to me but my ears are ringing, humming a bittersweet song to me that I’m finding hard to remember. You are wrapping and tapping to help stop what blood remains in my hand. Sadly, I can make out the words you yell to me as everything slowly grows dark. My lips are too numb to answer your simply request for answers as I pass out.
