Definitely a compliment, oh sweet Sebastian.
Tell me, Ree. What is it that you want? You're fond of getting compliments — which you certainly deserve — but it is rare to see you handing those out on your free will.

Blackout → Nina & Sebastian
The full moon had risen into the sky f o u r days ago. To Nina, emerging from the Forbidden Forest for only the second time since them, it seemed like it had been only hours ago. Her hair was matted with all manner of things to be found in the forest and the additional spot or two of blood, long since dried and very much not hers.
She had woken from her monthly, night-long loss of consciousness to find herself covered in what she had only assumed was her own blood and, upon venturing into the castle to seek help from Madame Pomfrey, the theory seemed to hold up. After all, she was always extremely sore after a full moon, running around doing Merlin knows what all night. However, as she was cleaning herself up with a washcloth from one of the student assistants Madame Pomfrey employed, Nina noticed that she wasn’t cut at all — not a single scratch anywhere.
Automatically assuming the worst, she fled, retreating to the forest where she stayed from Tuesday afternoon to Friday night, the whole time contemplating who or what she might have killed or badly injured and in what way and where they were now. She was so used to joking about killing that she thought she would be immune to the natural guilt that comes with it when a person kills for the first time, or since she was a monster that guilt wouldn’t be present to begin with. Lying in a patch of moss, unable to move, eat, or breathe without vomiting proved her wrong, and all the evidence of a crime she had was blood that still could potentially be her own.
Finally, after days of wishing she were dead, of wishing she were a wolf, of wishing she was truly as heartless as she pretended to be, Nina rose on trembling legs and dragged herself back through the doors of the castle. Everyone stared. Even more than usual. She would have stared too, had she seen a girl walking in looking like a bloody wood nymph.
She moved unthinkingly, headed for the dungeons only because they were closer than the Ravenclaw tower. She needed to find either Annalise or Sebastian before she went out of her mind, finally and for good.
For days, all Sebastian could think was that he needed to find her. Nina disappeared completely, leaving no trace, since the night in the forest. Full moons were always difficult, but that night was a complete disaster. He blamed no one but himself: It wasn't miscalculation. He decided to be with her that night fully aware of all the risks. It wasn't because of her h u n g e r, he was familiar with it. It was as appealing any other day as it was when the wolf moon was about to rise. That evening, he just couldn't let her go.
Sebastian walked hand in hand with her, heading to one of favorite secret places just where it was borderline forbidden. The t h r i l l of the almost legal was much more satisfying than being wherever they couldn't get caught.
Everythig about her dangerously screamed familiarity and he would be terrified of it was't she kissing him the way he liked the most. She had the impeccable talent of making him a beast too. Nina clawed the wilderness out of his chest.
And she kissed him. And he kissed her. And again. And again. And again. And her nails, his hair. His lips, her skin. Her teeth, his neck.
Until her eyes told him she was more wolf than human. And he knew it was too late.
Sebastian knew she didn't mean to hurt him, but it didn't numb the pain from the scratches on his torso or the deep cuts on his back. The potions his Ravenclaw girlfriends were prividing him, however, surely did. He couldn't risk going to Madam Pomfrey and having to explain what happened. He couldn't put Nina in danger. So when he woke up that morning, sore and barely being able to walk, he went straight to the dungeouns without answering questions.
Now, four days after, he could move properly and his limbs didn't feel like they were about to fall off, which was definitely progress considering the state he arrived in the castle. It was enough for him. Enough to pretend everything was okay. Enough to get up and look for her, because he knew something was off. He was resolute, about to get up from his messy bed and find his girl.
When he first saw her, though, he found his body was tense. Instinctively, he laidfurther away in his bed as he searched desperately for anything familiar in her eyes.
That completely unhuman sight of her was still in his mind, after all..
She was her, however, and it was okay, so Sebastian sighed and waited, not being sure what he was supposed to do. He was both relief and utter shock, and the Slytherin wasnt really positive that was possible. There were too many ways all of that was wrong.
He knew love wasn't always gentle, but sometimes it felt like fucking teeth.
No. Definitely not. Firstly, because this is a matter of great importance. Secondly, because I like looking at you in this compromising position. Thirdly, I’ve forgotten what the matter of great importance was.
I — [ Sebastian looked down, chuckling. ] think this is a compliment?
Thank you?
Really? Right now? This couldn't wait until I was...less naked?
At the beginning of whatever this is .. — and are you a Seer now, Vaisey? A fortune teller, a mind reader? [ Mary drawled, her voice getting lower, almost breathy as she didn’t break eye contact. ] Then, I suppose we’ll be staring at each other for the duration of the ride. — And what love life? Do you mean you’re thing with Nina? [ She combatted, her smile becoming even more smug than before, she had to keep it up if she was going to win this — but this was just so damn entertaining. ] And here I thought you didn’t know what a Jedi was. Should’ve known.
[ Still, she’s not giving him a clear answer, and the way he’s attempting to make her uncomfortable is positively idiotic, but once again, she doesn’t break away. Not only had she been in worse situations, but this was far too thrilling — even if it was becoming a tad bit dangerous — to stop. How far was he willing to go? Mary knew her limit, but did he have one? That’s what was dangerous. Still, just another smart retort rolled off her tongue with a cheshire smile in tow. ] I guess you’ll find out, Bash, but seeing as I’m still here, do you think I’m actually uncomfortable? And what would make you think I wanted your presence in the first place? I could be trying to do what you’re attempting to do to me.
—— Make you u n c o m f o r t a b l e.
I most certainly did not.
— And, for the record, I'm not a seer, but I've been working on my legilimency. It's thrilling, isn't it? Being inside people's heads...knowing their most secret fears, their deepest desires... [ Sebastian winked, caressing her cheek ]
[ His antics weren't an attitude: with time, his insolence was a personality trait, something he couldn't simply turn off. Hearing her talk back was...appealing, especially because he knew whatever was happening wasn't friendly bickering. In opposition to backing off their little turmoil, there was not much he could do, so if that was possible, he came closer. ] Is that so? You came to me. You talked to me. You refused to leave when I asked you to. You sat down in front of me and started to fucking argue with me — you fucking know me. You know me and you sat there and talked. And yelled. [ Bash smirked ] This sounds like borderline obssesion, Mary MacDonald. [ Though his eloquence was perfect, his speech was confusing. His words were harsh, but he sounded almost pleased. ]
— You can't, Mary. There's absolutely nothing you can do to make me uncomfortable.
[ Sebastain raised an eyebrow, eyes glued on hers ]
I’m sorry, I think you’re the one who said it first. Well, good on you then. [ A soft laugh, almost sounding dismissive, snuck from Mary’s mouth. ] You can’t help but wonder? That’s a shit answer. Try again. — A slip? How do you know it’s not on purpose, how do you know I don’t like you? Suspicious is a harsh word, I’d say…— curious. [ Mary continued eye contact. ] Is that a promise, Vaisey? I’m a bit competitive, I might not stop. If you’ll stop making the eyes at me first, then I’ll stop making the eyes. — Ah, there it is, interesting. [ She says vaguely, her lips quirking into a another smile, a laugh almost. Purebloods and knowing nothing about Muggle culture. It was entertaining at times, really. ] Later? Presumptuous. I could always just avoid you for the rest of the school year and keep you in the dark.
When exactly was that? How do I know you don't like me? Well, that's the point of this entire conversation. I don't. And actually, I don't think you dislike me. [ Bash sustained their stare-off ] Well, I'm competitive too, so I might not stop just for the sake of arguing. What's interesting, Maryw I hope, for the sake of you end in this conversation, that you're not talking about my love life again. [ Sebastian can't help but notice how smug she looks, oh, how he wishes to wipe that smile off her face ] However, avoid me you will not, right? [ His Yoda tone fades to something that sounds a little more dangerous. ] You won't. You could have done it before. I didn't ask you to sit here and I know there are other empty compartments, so my guess is that you wanted my presence just as much as I want you to be uncomfortable with that.
Oh, brown eyes filled with lust. How poetic, what else are you going to say, that they glistened in your presence too? You sound like Rita Skeeter. [ There was an eyebrow quirk in his direction as she lightly scoffed. ] Yes, and don’t forget Jedi either — or elephant rider. — My interest is due to being a nosy son of a bitch, nothing else. Why would you think I’m interested in your love life so much? [ Mary gave him a look to match his idiotic description of how her eyes looked. ] Oh, let me guess they’re my brown eyes filled with l u s t.
Well, you said it. I'll take that as a compliment, by the way. I adore Rita. [ Sebastian smiled at her description of herself: she had spunk ] Well, I couldn't help but wonder, you know? [ He rested his legs on the seat next to her ] You've been trying so hard to maintain your role of 'I dislike you' and then that slip? It is a little suspicious. [ His eyes mirrored hers. ] Stop making the eyes at me and I'll stop making the eyes at you. And yes, we're something, Nina and I, but it is casual. She can do whatever the hell she wants and I can do whoever the hell I want. [ His smug expression was replaced with confusion ] Later you'll have to explain to me what the fuck is a Jedi, for Merlin's sake.
Well, I guess being a good liar’s just another thing I got going for me isn’t it? And just sucked your dick, congrats for your class act there, Vaisey. Though, I shouldn’t judge, I got stoned before I came here. Attack you? Why the hell would I physically attack you? Only if you attacked me would I attack you. — Literally, you all need to find new scare tactics, you’re talking to the girl who spent a summer in St. Mungos after being attacked, mate. It’d be cool to have that carved on my gravestone — Mary MacDonald, eaten by a werewolf. [ Mary looked out the window with a smug smile on her face for a few moments before looking back at the person in front of her. ] So, you and Nina together or is it just a casual thing.
[ He shrugged at her mention of his class, but couldn't help but smile at the idea of Mary geting stoned. ] You could attack me. You're giving me those brown eyes filled with lust. It might, however, be the pot taking control. Don't forget 'loving motherfucker' and 'dear pit of cheap sarcasm'. For your gravestone. [ He sits back on his seat, eyes never leaving hers ] Interested, are you? Maybe it's not the pot, after all.
[ Mary can’t help but scoff and roll her eyes, before plopping down in the compartment despite what he said. ] What’s that you said about it being full? And I sort of like her a bit, Nina. She’s got spunk. More personality than you could hope to possess from what I’ve seen.
[ Sebastian smirks in amusement, looking at her in the eyes as she sits across from him in the compartment ] She definitely got spunk - she just sucked my dick and then went off to get more candy - but hey! You're a good liar. I could've believed in your pure spite towards my person have you not decided to stay here with me. Just don't attack me, please. Nina might come back sooner then you expect and tonight's a full moon. I wouldn't put it past her to eat you whole.
Yeah, cause this is totally about your attendance. [ sighing deeply at how uncooperative he was being, Nina moved from her station at the edge of the bed, sitting across his waist instead ] The only way you’re getting me back tonight is as a giant wolf. So wake up.
What's bothering you? [ He pulled her closer, holding her in an awkward hug position ] Oh. Really? Right now?
Seems like over the holiday not only have your Quidditch skills been damaged, but your brain has too. How did your vocabulary get so small in less than three months? Should I start writing on cave walls, maybe then you’ll be able to discern that, hm, Vaisey?
— — — No, we shan’t. You can go do whatever the hell you do, and I’ll leave you alone. Sound good, Caveman?
Sounds thrilling. I don't appreciate the company of 12 year old know-it-alls, especially when they insult my quidditch abilities. You can go now, this compartment is full. [ He motions to his empty compartment ] Nina is out somewhere.
What ever happened to me being your one and only?
One thing doesn't exclude the other.
The other day, Emma and I were talking about the addition of cheerleaders to Hogwarts quidditch. I know a few girls are interested in the positions, but I decided to come to you first and ask if you wanna be a part of the team. Emma's actually gonna handle this, I think, while I just sit and watch, but a face like yours would be lovely to see every match.
I’m sure… What is your goal here, Sebastian?
Can't I just appreciate a small talk with a dear friend?
Yes, but all men are dogs. Like, I love you, but. Still applies.
So you love me, then?
Yeah, which is why I’m only gonna use it to reward good behavior. Begging’s not gonna help. And I’m gonna give you a “down, boy” just for good measure.
You know there's no such thing as good behavior. I'm can't complain after that one, clearly, but if I recall, you are the dog here, lovely.
More like two in the afternoon. [ she climbs onto the edge of his bed and perches there, one lip firmly between her teeth ] Get up, or I’ll throw another pillow at you.
I missed so many classes already, couldn't you wait until it was dark outside? [ He lays back on his bed, trying his best to pretend he's sleeping again ]
