Hey, Seblainers! Hellooooo, everyone else!

We were really sad when the absolutely incredible SeblaineAffairs announced the end of Seblaine Week, so we decided to keep it alive, because our tiny (but always fierce!) fandom is still going strong. Many OG Seblainers are still active and new Seblainers join us all the time. Your new Admins @seblaineaddict (Ail) and @nightbirdssidekick (Lisa) are perfect examples of that.

So our exciting news is that SeblaineWorld is your new home of Seblaine events. First up - Seblainiversary 2022! Keep an eye on this blog nearer the time for full details on themes, rules etc.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to again thank the wonderful ladies of @seblaineaffairs for all their hard work in hosting so many events over so many years. You gave us a safe place where Seblainers could not only share their love of our beautiful boys Blaine Anderson and Sebastian Smythe, but could make friends with like-minded people; no matter if they were an OG glee watcher back in 2009 (@seblaineaddict ), or a newer glee watcher in 2019 (@nightbirdssidekick ), and everything in-between.

You gave us a place where all the incredibly talented Seblainers could showcase their work; be it fics, graphics, gifsets, videos, playlists, or really anything Seblaine-related. A place that was ours, and honestly, Seblainers as a fandom are very supportive of each other, and we have you to thank for bringing us all together.

Nothing was ever too much for you and you tirelessly answered all of our questions, offering help and support to everyone who needed it. We’re so grateful to you for blazing a trail and giving us so many opportunities, and we only hope as the new Admins of this new home, we can do you proud.

Who enjoys listening to pathetic fools lamenting about their lost love on the radio in the middle of the night? The radio host must either be a sadist who gets off on other people’s suffering, or really hate his job.

“I hear you, Wendy,” a velvety male voice tries to soothe the caller. “You thought he was ‘the one’, and I totally understand that it’s hard to accept that he’s not.”

Sebastian’s finger is already on the power button of the small radio on his nightstand when his breath suddenly catches in his throat…

Day 1: Reunion

Here's a breezy summer read for you, a WIP (I will convert this into something publishable as a YA book so I promise I will finish it!). It's set during a summer between Seblaine's college years. It follows merrily along with one of my favorite books, "Carney's House Party." This is my first full length fic I've started exclusively for Seblaine Week. As it's the end of an era, the effort felt merited!

For all of those who thought Blaine’s move back to Ohio to teach at Dalton felt like a contrivance…this fic assumes canon until that point. Right after the end of Blaine’s stormy first year at NYADA, Klaine break up.

But they don’t get back together because Blaine never goes to Dalton. He is braver, he goes west and crashes on Cooper’s couch. After year of recovery and development, he starts school at one of the best music programs in the country. The archenemy of my own alma mater: The University of Southern California (I actually worked there and it’s an impressive school, worthy of our dear Blaine).

Kurt and Blaine do talk again, but aren’t silly enough to try long distance. They keep in touch as friends. So after two years of being apart, Kurt is the biggest question mark in Blaine’s life. Fighting with Sebastian after the Season 5, episode 01 proposal maybe be his biggest regret.

Unlike my other stories, I decided to bring Hunter Clarington into the fray. Will Hunter help or hurt Seblaine’s chances of getting together?

I can't express how much I appreciate all of the hard work everyone puts into this event!! It's such a huge gift to the fandom for everyone to organize this and participate. It's my FAVORITE week of the year! Honestly, I can't read them all this week; I have to save some to savor over time. But I always read ALL of them. THANKS! <3

Sorry I can't find the answer on your blog...what is the deadline today for Seblaine week posts? Also, thank you soooooooooooooooooooo much for your leadership in our little fandom all these years! These weeks really help keep everyone focused on our love of the chemistry of Seblaine!

Don't remind us that today is the last day of Seblaine Week 😭😭😭😭 Officially we allow for posting up to midnight in whatever time zone you're in. Unofficially, I try to go to bed early on weeknights and have an 8.30 call in the morning so probably won't do final reblogs until tomorrow afternoon (so do with that information what you will).

And I'm sure we'll also do a sappy post-week/goodbye post, but it has truly been an honor to host these events for so many years and we are continuously astounded by this little fandom.

Seblaine Week 2022

Day 6: Exes With Benefits

It's (Very!) Complicated

In truth, my heart actually sank when I read that this theme won out over some amazing other options this year, because I seriously HATE this trope... So I decided to write it from a different angle.

Since many of you know me sooo well, it won't surprise you that this one will have a very happy ending.

In this fic outline having dated for only 6 months in their early twenties, (they split because Blaine wasn't over Kurt, and Bas found it difficult to feel like he was second-best, on top of him not yet being emotionally mature enough to handle a monogamous relationship), the fic starts off with them accidentally reuniting 2 years after splitting up.

They hook up and realise just how much they have missed each other - not that they tell each other that! They decide the morning after when they're curled around each other after round 5, that they should become friends (or rather Exes!), with benefits, but both are free to sleep with anyone else as well. They make it a golden rule though, that if either of them falls in love with someone new, they'll instantly end their arrangement, as it wouldn't be fair on the new person.

They've been sleeping together again for 8 months, until inevitably, when a guy seems to have caught Blaine’s eye in a pretty serious way, a very jealous Bas acts out and they have a blazing row.

After not speaking for a month, Santana, who's had quite enough of their mutual pining, intervenes and tries to drill some sense into them both, gently suggesting that it's obvious their arrangement is no longer working for them, since it's clear they can't sleep with each other without deep-rooted feelings getting in the way.

Furiously in denial, the idiotsinlove are determined to prove Santana wrong. They separately ask her to set up a meeting between them, so she decides to play Cupid and tells each that the other had suggested the meeting place, and has them meet at the Gay Club they were reunited at.

They can barely keep their hands off each other after a few drinks, and are soon in a Taxi to Bas' house where they both state,

"This is the last time we EVER do this!"

But when Blaine confesses that he couldn't date the guy who was interested in him cause he wasn't Bas, Sebastian pushes him away telling him he loves him so much, but can’t give him what he wants.

Blaine is heartbroken (as is Bas!), and while they have both caught feelings all over again, they try to move on.

(Very) long story short, after a lot of Angst and turmoil, and a very emotionally-charged reunion, they decide they hate being Exes, get back together and run off to Paris to get married, after Bas tells Blaine he loves him more than he can ever quantify, that Blaine is his home, and that he needs to be able to tell him that every single day for the rest of their lives.

**This one will probably be published in the next couple of months, but in the meantime this is the title Graphic.** 💜

I’m cheating at Seblaine week ;) 

Okay so I’m using day 7 to finish my WIP that, ironically, I started during Seblaine week last year. The final chapter is an epilogue to the story that A) takes place 10 years post-canon and B) takes place in the years following the end of the story. 

Special thank you to @seblaineaffairs for putting this all together and running this lovely event for us every year. It’s been so nice to feel like a part of a community here (especially as someone who was a little late to the Seblaine bandwagon). We’ll miss it a lot :)

Years later, he stands by that. Still, one call on a random whim might lead to a reconnection, and maybe make things even better for the both of them.
