My Experience Using Tumblr
I am quite fond of the Tumblr user interface. It leaves nothing up to guessing and presents you with every tool you need immediately. Navigating the site is simple and not frustrating, unlike many other social networking sites.
I honestly have no qualms with the interface; however, if I had to change something, I would add an option for strict code as opposed to having to go through text, video, photo, etc.
I chose the theme Booky because there aren’t excessive features - it presents what it needs to present while adding moderate flair (such as the background image and border).
Themes
Three themes that I did not find appealing:
-Organ
I didn’t like this theme because, even though aesthetically it is attractive and interesting, it does not allow for easy viewing of posts.
-Fluid
I didn’t like this theme because I got the immediate impression that the focus was drawn more to the background image and translucent sections in lieu of the actual entries.
-Postage
I didn’t feel for this theme because I felt the scrolling mechanics were backwards - instead of keeping the sidebar stationary with the user information, it keeps the postage stamp stationary and scrolls everything else.
