I've been wanting to redraw this scene from echoes of the eye since finishing the dlc ;; finally I did it! Meeting the prisoner was a very special moment >.< ... GEOMETRIC GLASSES!!!! and patterns! wanted to have them kinda resemble the crystals and rocks on Brittle Hollow.... Also has little extra magnifying lenses for looking extra close at Nomai artifacts!!

Gave them hat, ran into the problem that these kinds of winter hats are meant to specifically keep ppls ears warm, but hearthians without ears look bald to me (more then they already are.) Then I thought about how they probably evolved with big ears for thermal regulation, since thats what most animals in our world have them for. So I think they have a little slit in them so they can stick them out if theyre getting too warm with the hat 🤔

Their space suit confuses me. Why the dots riebeck why.

Really cute to me how the hearthians get scared when you shoot a scout near them

Also doing this i noticed. Esker is the only traveller who gets scared, and moraine + gossan both dont get scared. Also the scout clips through feldspar always. You cant stick a scout to them

Figuring out traveler designs, part one Chert ::)

Design for their patterns is inspired by coffiebee's design! The main rosettes on their face are meant to represent the ash twins, but I also added some stars throughout the spots (Also, you will notice the smaller spots are in the same formation as some of the constellations you can see in the sky in game!)

Big glasses. I made Chert specifically nearsighted partly because they mention using their scout to look around the Ember Twin, and partly because I think the tiny eyes is cute.

I dunno what else to talk about for design, but personally I think they give very caffeinated collage student with horrible anxiety vibes. number one consumer of coffee in the entire solar system.

Also, "As Chert will tell you if you so much as glance in Dark Bramble’s direction, there used to be a fifth planet where the Bramble is now." Hits them with the autism beam. Space special interest go.
