hiii, absolutely! so some things might switch here and there but uuuh long HSSAU worldbuilding/lore read ahead!
Gossan: Ember Twin Sentinel, they're the representative of the Sablier space program and - you guessed it - Ember Twin. Ash Twin business is usually reliant on the fitting Ash Twin Sentinel, a sablier elected by authority befitting Gossan's station. Renowned for their piloting and pedagogy, it's considered an honor to be their student.
Hal: Young but gifted linguist, Hal has practically spent as much time on Timber Hearth as they did on their home planets, studying the Nomai culture alongside the Hatchling. They spent several years or their late teenagehood as an educatee on Brittle Hollow.
Moraine: Astrophycist enthusiast, they grew and studied alongside Chert and chose to remain Twin-bound to specialize in ways to further develop the Sablier science in solar energy (and its storage).
Hornfels: Head of the Hearthian Space Program's mission assignments. They fulfill the role of auxiliary emissary when the Hatchling begins their mission as Hearth's freshest emissary astronaut. Despite original health issues that kept them from following astronaut training, they now benefit from a medical device that combines Brittler and Brambler technologies and stabilizes their condition. They've often been hosted on Ember Twin to pursue astronomy-focused research.
Rutile: Timber Hearth's mayor. Works closely with Esker - their Space Program rep - for big decisions involving interplanetary influence, like trade or resource management. They were the original pitcher for the now-terminated OWVII (Outer Wilds Ventures Interplanetary Initiative, also called the Odysseus Program) that encouraged interplanetary friendship by mingling students from around the solar system, forming a group composed of then-teenagers Gossan, Esker, Slate and Feldspar.
Tuff: Miner down the Zero-g cave. Supplies Timber Hearth with its most precious resource for trade. Had a brief thing with Hornfels sometime ago, quickly over once both realized their opposite affinity for space.
Tephra: Your typical little rascal. Really wants to meet the scary but legendary Feldspar despite everyone's disapproving retorts.
Slate: Brittler Supervisor, they're the representative of the Brittler Space Program and Brittle Hollow. They're not a pilot themself, so they're escorted by the program's astronauts to move around the solar system (in space ships they've had a hand in building). They're perceived as one of the greatest engineers the solar system has ever known.
Marl: Gravity crystal sculptor. Prepares the stock usually destined for interplanetary trade, and assists the assimilation of gravity mechanics into local furniture or clothing (like gravity soles). Also has the fattest crush on Chert. Have that as unnecessary info
Tektite: Gravity mine and Black Hole sector supervisor. Picks the best material and only the best out of the most pressured-by-blackhole's-gravity crystals to then hand over to Marl, their prior mining apprentice.
Spinel: Giant's Deep Chieftain. They oversee Giant's Deep's colonies and interplanetary business, and have authority over anything quantum ritual-adjacent alongside the planet's Observer. They chose to remain in good terms with Dark Bramble despite the Bramble Seed attack on Giant's Deep and the following Bramble embargo set up by the rest of the system. Whether or not that decision is made out of obligation is unknown.
Basalt: Spinel's second hatchling and Gabbro's little sibling. Worked as a fisher and dabbled in headdress making. Dedicated themself to their Observer training for a part of their young adulthood while Gabbro followed astronaut training as part of Giant's Deep's space program. Passed away shortly after.
Porphy: Your typical everymission-Leviathan, but specializes in the art of fermentation and has followed training to assist the Observer in leading ritualistic practises. Is in a delightful flirting phase with the Ember Twin Sentinel.
Arkose: Your very Arkose-typical little rascal. Is ecstatic anytime Feldspar visits - "Is it true you ride a huge scary fish that could eat the Quantum Moon???? Soo cooooooool!!!!!!!"
Gneiss: Dark Bramble's Head of Medical. They also oversee the gargantuan task of helping newly hatched Bramblers acclimate and muscle up properly to maximize survival. They're occasionally Feldspar's most trusted advisor (if that crooked thorn of a Brambler even decides to listen...)
Granite: One of the greatest geneticists the Bramble has ever known. They've revolutionized multiple quality-of-life necessities for their people, which has allowed Dark Bramble to improve their independance and build upon their trade assets. They were Gneiss's closest friend and Feldspar's mentor. They passed away of old age.
Galena: Your very Galena-typical little rascal... They might be quite timid for a Brambler, they're just as prone to mischief as you'd think. Bonded themself to Feldspar of their own accord. You don't decide those things.
