2025 Dating: Thoughts, Review and Advice
Too many singles in their 20s are finding that dating in 2025 has become a nuisance, surrounded by a sea of individuals but unable to find a real option. Often, people are emotionally unavailable or not looking for “anything serious.”
In a recent blog article titled “How Are Young People Feeling About Dating in 2025” by Serena Smith, multiple single individuals in their 20s shared their hopeful viewpoints on dating in the new year. Ella, 26 years old, is one of these individuals and stated, “I’m going to be quite upfront from the start and say I am monogamous, and I’m looking for something serious. I’m not looking for a situationship at all.”
According to another blog post titled “How To Improve Your Dating Life in 2025” by Cher, Ella highlighted items 3 (Master Communication Skills), 6 (Set Healthy Boundaries), and 7 (Date with a Purpose) as key ways she plans to improve her dating life.
Overall, focusing on self-development is a key recommendation from Cher if you’re starting, currently in, or hoping to be in a relationship. As a communication major, one important aspect that many professors mention is that communication with others and yourself is an ongoing process.
Being true to yourself and knowing what you want in a relationship can help you weed out potential partners who don’t meet your standards. It also has the added benefit of allowing you to reflect on your intentions, which might even aid in your own personal self-development.
Being open about your intentions from the beginning and paying attention to whether the other person respects those boundaries can be a great way to determine if they are right for you. If they are unable to respect your boundaries while getting to know you, they will likely not respect them after they’ve gotten to know you.
