Back with another piece inspired by Genshin Impact! This one takes inspiration from Durin’s story quest and the storybook that accompanied it. Malleus and Durin both are so alike with them being dragons that go from a beginning steeped in loneliness to seeking and fostering connections with others. I wanted to make a storybook page that showed Malleus entering NRC to find friendship, but the looming shadow of his lineage keeps everyone at arm’s length.

I tried some new brushes with this piece in order to give a soft, storybook feel, and I ended up really liking them! Chibis have always been tough for me, but I like how Malleus and the others turned out here, I tried for an Animal Crossing feel mixed with the chibis from the twst anime. I hope you all enjoy! Currently working on a dramatic lighting Vil piece, so that should be next…probably 😂

🍊every time i see the mizuki/saki rarepair it's always just cute fashion girlies doing cute fashion stuff. and yeah i like the pretty pink lemonade lesbians aesthetic but like. there's so much loneliness at the core of who they are and the potential to tap into that is tempting (i swear i am coming up with something but it is cooking pretty slowly)

social isolation vs physical isolation. fashion opening doors in their lives, for mizuki through self-exploration and having people look at her as the person she wants to be; for saki as another thing in life to experience for the first time and connect with the ever-changing times that passed her by. Important people in their lives slipping away only to find their way back in. y'all KNOW saki would find comfort in the power fantasy of a magical girl anime that tells her she can be strong enough to fight through anything life throws at her so imagine them binge watching that shit together and crying

anyway if i haven't released a single chapter of a mizuki/saki internet friends au by the end of march please come to my house and threaten me with physical violence Ɛ>
