for the record, I’ve seen proshoantipara arguing with several other pro para blogs that also had the proship tag (some of which did in fact mention being proship.)

if proshoantipara wanted to avoid them, they could have filtered out #pro para, #MAP and other para tags ages ago instead of seeking them out to call them disgusting.

If they want their comfort to be prioritized, they can prioritize it themselves like they’re supposed to in a situation like this.

Being proship and being pro-para are intertwined to an extent, and if I think that paraphiles who are proship are absolutely allowed in the tags.

the proship tag is never fully safe anyways, antis put violent threats in the proship tags all the time and I think that’s much worse than you telling people that they’re not bad people for their attractions.

I used to follow @parafessions and this person would go into the comments to accuse paraphiles of being okay with doing things (regarding contact for the big three) that nobody even said they condoned. I argued with them once and it SEEMED like we came to an agreement but they went on to say that parafessions blocked them “just for saying they shouldn’t be in our sacred proship tags!” When they were also putting words in anons’ mouths and sending hate.

Now parafessions is gone because anti-paras got it termed.

I don’t believe it’s only just about staying in our own tags. I think Proshoantipara doesn’t like that paraphiles have a place on the internet at all.

“Para-Neutral” my ass, how can you say you’re neutral to people you harass and insult for a problem you can fix with a few taps of your screen?

I don’t think it’s fair for people to be calling you selfish for that.

MAPs who aren't strictly straight are still queer. Even if they have exclusive attraction to children, the fact their attraction can't be acted on (towards real children) doesn't negate their orientation. Orientation and paraphilia are different, afterall.

They're still harmed by queerphobia. The idea that queer people are inherently predators harms them especially so. And more than that, they're still a part of the LGBT+ community. They need our support and love, and we need to accept them for who they are. They have a right to pride and community, too.

People don't choose to be MAPs any more than they choose to be queer or autistic. And having a feeling doesn't mean someone is going to behave a certain way. No one on this Earth is ever inherently a predator. Abuse is a choice, and acting as if that's not true harms survivors, alongside MAPs and other neurodivergent people. Abusers must be seen as responsible for their own actions, and that can't happen if we treat abuse as innate.

No matter how much you hate it, the whole "you either support all of us, or none of us" thing has to apply to MAPs. It has to; the moment we put conditions on who's allowed in this community, whose experiences matter, who's a "good enough person" to be LGBT+, we are all in danger. We cannot throw our peers under the bus, for their sake and our own.

So many people are subject to something very adjacent to conversion therapy, but will never know it. Having family members attempt to convert you is only different from conversion therapy in that it's informal. I wish there was a term for that.

There are trans people who are proud to be trans, and there are trans people who want to hide that they're trans. Both are valid. No one's obligated to be proud, just as no one is obligated to conform.

👉 There's nothing wrong with enjoying any type of fiction for kink or self-pleasuring reasons.

👉 There's nothing wrong in writing or drawing media blatantly portraying sexuality.

👉 Creating art simply for kink or self-pleasure doesn't make the fiction any less valid or "less off".

👉 You don't need to constantly pair kink with other more "refined themes" to make it "acceptable" in your writing/drawing.

👉 "PWP", aka "Porn Without Plot" or "Plot? What Plot?", is still just as valid as other types of writing.

👉 To think that only "safe" and "unproblematic" kinks are allowed to be written or drawn is extremely kink negative and conservative.

👉 Taboo kinks and paraphilias should have the right to be explored in fiction the same way that "non-problematic" kinks are. Yes, even if it's only for self-pleasure.

👉 There's nothing wrong in posting writings or drawings containing nothing but kink on the Internet. You don't need to keep it to yourself. If it's tagged, there should be no issue if people want to avoid it.
