Just saw an ig post from an F1 creator I've been following for MONTHS saying "What's an opinion you have about F1 that you know is true and you know everyone agrees on but is too scared to admit" (paraphrased) and this was their caption:
And sure it could be satire idk but seriously? Are we talking about the same person here?? The answer for every single argument for this is just that he's a ferrari driver.
Someone's gonna bring up the stats now and say "Oh if he's good then why is his pole to win ratio so low?" Because he's a ferrari driver
"Why does he only have 8 wins after 7 seasons with the team?" Because he's a ferrari driver
"If he's so talented why does he not have a championship?" Because he's a fucking ferrari driver
And sure, not all of his crashes were entirely due to bad luck or ferrari, I'm not saying he's perfect, but the fact that so many people now think the same just because of these last two seasons is just genuinely so heartbreaking. Do people not remember AD'24 where he went from 19th to 3rd? Or was that just a fluke? What about the battle against Oscar for the win in Baku? Or Austin'24 where he went from 4th to 1st in the first lap and then won the race? Bahrain'22? Austria'22? Fucking Bahrain'19??
His pole to win ratio and his number of wins is low because he can extract the maximum out of a subpar car over a single lap but then either the car just gives up on him during the race or ferrari gives him shit strategy.
And yeah the story sells, but he would not have made it into F1 in the first place if he wasn't talented or filthy rich and they definitely weren't rich enough for that. Fucking Max Verstappen would not have said "I knew that if I made it into Formula One, Charles would make it too" if he wasn't talented. Sebastian Vettel would not have said "He is the most naturally talented person I know" if he wasn't talented.
Fuck you dude
