Is it difficult to fit biometric devices?
Every layman thinks that he can install the machines himself. It takes only a few minutes to realize one's mistake. The task that seemed very easy is actually an elaborate process. And risks of doing it yourself are many.
So I collaborated with our support team to create a helpful post.
Generally, the installation process is simple. It is generally attached to a side of the gate or at the door. A kit comes with the biometric devices. Some brands won't provide the tools like a screwdriver, a few screws and a driller. In this case, you have to CALL an electrician and pay him to install the machine. If a three screws- stand does not come with it, you have to buy it from a near by electrical shop.
Wiring and lock system can be troublesome for a lot of people. It can bother any local electrician whose knowledge of biometric system is insufficient. There are two ports behind the biometric device. Identifying the cables and connecting them correctly is confusing. No guide can really help you install the machine own your own.
Port option includes reader wire, exit cable, GRN, lock cable, and an adaptor.
A 12 volt adaptor is left out of the kit. You have to buy it. It costs between rupees 60 -125.
Installation may be even more confusing and difficult for a local electrician if a single lock system is attached to the machine. Connecting door lock with the biometric is a tricky job for amateurs. The single biometric machine only lets you in the room.
What about coming out after entrance? How do you do it?
There are two ways to do it: one is installing two biometric machines on the both sides of the door. But installation of two machines can cost you more. Most users opt for a biometric machine on the outside and a reader on the backside? This combination is most suitable for the card-based system.
Another option is finger based biometric device which requires two devices, one on the outside called the master device and the other on the inside of the gate is called slave device. These devices send data to the other device which is connected to them with a WAG IN cable.
