how to make spaghetti

1 small onion, chopped (optional)3 -4 garlic cloves, minced1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce2 cups water (for a long period of simmering for flavors to meld.)3 teaspoons basil2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes1 1⁄2 teaspoons brown sugar1 teaspoon salt1⁄4-1⁄2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes1⁄4 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper1⁄4 cup red wine (a good Cabernet!)1 lb thin spaghetti parmesan cheese

In large, heavy stockpot, brown Italian sausage, breaking up as you stir.Add onions and continue to cook, stirring occasionally until onions are softened.Add garlic, tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce and water.Add basil, parsley, brown sugar, salt, crushed red pepper, and black pepper.Stir well and barely bring to a boil.Stir in red wine.Simmer on low, stirring frequently for at least an hour. A longer simmer makes for a better sauce, just be careful not to let it burn!Cook spaghetti according to package directions.Spoon sauce over drained spaghetti noodles and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

I’ve been going through a time recently. I’m working on it and I’m okay but it’s been rough lately. I just wanted to make a post about things I’m thankful for. (In no particular order other than I liked how the pictures looked in this order) 🌻Flowers- I love photographing flowers. I don’t really know why but it’s what I’ve always been drawn to, in photography and otherwise. They’re strong and they’re vibrant and they represent life and growth and in a way I admire that. I strive to be as strong and vibrant as a flower is. 💛 Taylor- This boy makes me so freaking happy. I have no words to accurately describe it. He is my rock. He supports me through every aspect of my life. I love him with every fiber of my being. You hear about how amazing it can be to fall in love with your best friend, and I will forever be thankful that I am lucky enough to experience it for myself. ⛅️ The sky- Not particularly sunsets or sunrises, but every phase the sky goes through on any given day. Even on the grayest of days, the sky will always show its blue again. It appears to go on endlessly. To me the sky represents the infinite number of possibilities in my life. All of the possible doors I can and will open along the way. I’ve been told to be careful not to close any doors I might wish I kept open in the future, but I like to think that I can open any door I like, whenever I please. At least, that’s the kind of control I aspire to have over my life, though it doesn’t always work that way. Of course I’m thankful for many other things, but these are definitely at the top of the list. Hope anyone who reads this is doing well, and if you aren’t I hope things look up for you soon (: Jack 🌿
