EHRC COMMISSIONER says you can’t have a trans inclusive associations
“Call yourself a man for my amusement or be harassed and humiliated with the excuse that you’re being indecent”
The cruelty really is the point
If a business in the UK has mostly trans clientele does the EHRC expect them to have extremely long lines at any gender neutral restroom with mostly empty single sex facilities that they're still required to operate?
Would they be able to simply swap the labels on the doors while still saying they're single sex?
Would an organization created by and for trans women be allowed to call itself a women's organization or would it have to class all its members as men, which would cause enough distress to its potential members that it's unlikely that it would even be able to exist in practice?
is the supreme court of the uk just allowed to decide that all trans people are bisexual like that?
A Utah-commissioned study finds gender-affirming care for trans youth is safe, effective, and backed by extensive evidence, despite politica
A comprehensive new report commissioned by the Utah Department of Health and Human Services provides one of the most detailed and exhaustive assessments to date on the medical safety, effectiveness, and long-term outcomes of gender-affirming care for transgender and nonbinary youth. And despite recent political rhetoric suggesting otherwise, the findings are clear: gender-affirming medical treatment, when guided by evidence-based protocols, helps transgender adolescents thrive. The report “Gender-Affirming Medical Treatments for Pediatric Patients with Gender Dysphoria” was produced by the University of Utah’s College of Pharmacy Drug Regimen Review Center and submitted to the state in August 2024. It arrives in the wake of Utah’s controversial Senate Bill 16, which placed a moratorium on gender-affirming medical care for minors and tasked health officials with conducting a review to determine whether the ban should remain in place. Rather than validating the restrictions, the 900-page report systematically debunks the narrative that these treatments are experimental or dangerous. Instead, it affirms what many healthcare professionals, families, and transgender individuals already know from lived experience: that access to gender-affirming hormone therapy and puberty blockers reduces psychological distress, improves quality of life, and is supported by decades of research. The Utah report is among the most thorough reviews conducted by a state agency. It draws on more than 270 clinical studies from the U.S., Canada, the Netherlands, Australia, and Europe, spanning observational studies, randomized controlled trials, and long-term descriptive research. These studies examined the mental and physical health outcomes of transgender youth who underwent gender-affirming medical care, including puberty blockers (GnRH analogs), cross-sex hormones (testosterone or estrogen), and related medications. Key findings include: Significant mental health improvement in adolescents undergoing gender-affirming care, including reductions in depression, anxiety, suicidality, and eating disorders. Improved quality of life and self-image reported by TGNB youth after starting hormone therapy. Low rates of regret or treatment discontinuation, especially when care is delivered through comprehensive, multidisciplinary teams. No serious long-term health risks found in monitored populations receiving hormone therapy, including studies with follow-ups as long as 40 years. The authors conclude that there is more evidence supporting gender-affirming care than there is for many high-risk new drugs approved for children in the U.S., including recent gene therapies.

”Trans women should remain in their natural bodies, call themselves men, and generally exist in society in a way that makes them indistinguishable from the typical man. Performing no actions that challenges the expectations of them based on the genitals they were born with is the best way for them to challenge gendered expectations, somehow.”
"Wealth isn't "stuff", its the social relationship of command."
Oh fuck thats an amazing point.
“Conservative jokes are funny you just don’t have a sense of humor”
Average conservative joke:
“Rape 😂”
And then *I’m* the bully when I say that garbage is sexist
This election has ruined people
The idea that the female body is the same as the male body but with just breasts and a uterus added is the reason why women's health and research are lagging behind. Scientists see our feminine sex characteristics and processes such as menstruation and pregnancy as confounding factors. They perceive the male body as being free from the supposedly extraneous variables of menstruation and uteri and thus better for study. But it's a lie. Significant and important sex differences permeate almost every biological phenomenon. We only know about 50% of how the human body functions because we've been only studying one body type: male. And now this view is being further embedded with gender ideology. With transwomen viewing their male bodies as just missing a few naughty female bits. This idea harms women and is anti-science.
Doesn’t this analysis of gender ideology only work if you ignore trans men
Or do they not count
This is not an anlysis of gender identity. This is an analysis of sex based inequality. Which trans men face. Because they have female bodies. We know this. They also know this else why would they be trans? What do y'all gain from acting daft and obtuse? Why do so many people claim to know the difference between sex and gender yet respond with questions about gender identity when someone is clearly speaking about biological sex. A car designed only with male participants in the crash study doesn't car about your trans man social idenity. Your 5'3 female body is still going to fly through the windshield.
“And now this view is being further embedded with gender ideology. With transwomen viewing their male bodies as just missing a few naughty female bits.”
This would have to either work the same with trans men, where they view their female bodies as just missing a few naughty male bits, undermining the entire rest of your original post, or gender ideology would have to work differently for them which it just doesn’t.

Has anyone talked abut the reverse of the glass cliff?
Where instead of a woman being put at the head of a failing company to blame her for its problems it’s a man getting put at the head of a successful company and as he drives it into the ground everyone around him says he’s doing great anyway?
ultimately communists aren't even telling you not to vote, the point is that it is completely ineffective action. when you ask 'why shouldn't we vote? we can vote and do other stuff' it is as if you had been proposing prayer as a solution to fascism and scolding anyone who said otherwise - even if your argument is 'there's no reason not to try', it implies an incredible and grave misunderstanding of what is and is not an effective means of political action. like... sure. go ahead and pray, to god or to Democracy, and buy fair-trade while you're at it, but if we're being honest, here, I think the defensiveness over it shows not genuine faith, but a desperation to engage with a system that clearly does not work, but whose alternative appears scary and unclear to you.
communists be like “aren’t you glad you didn’t vote (it’s an allegory of prayer to the status quo)” while they shuffle us all into a death camp
if I were being marched into a death camp I would simply Vote my way out. remember when the red army liberated auschwitz with incremental reforms
no but i remember that hitler was put into power because enough people voted for him soooooo
Hitler Literally lost the Presidential election and was later appointed chancellor by Hindenburg
remember anyone telling you not to vote wants the worse evil in power. stop reblogging this shit.
remember anyone telling you to vote wants the worse evil in power. keep reblogging this shit.
Joining the leftist infighting here.
You... can just vote and do other stuff. Like, that is an action you can take, @apas-95. It's not like voting is expensive (to most people) and there are countriest other than the USA with more functional election systems, which routinely vote into power rather left-wing governments.
Your striving for ideological purity is either cynical to the point of fatalism or pitifully immature. If you cannot approach political action from a pragmatic standpoint, there isn't a conversation about political action to be had.
And don't get me wrong, I'd love nothing more than to replace the US with something that is less volatile, for the sake of literally the entire world.
An idea I recently came across is to categorize people into political opponents and political enemies. Opponents being reasonable people who play by the rules and can be negotiated with, enemies being... well, fascists. And it is a dangerously reactionary thing to lump the two together and treat opponents like enemies.
Kalama Harris, politically reprehensible as though every Democrat candidate is, is a political opponent. However corrupt the US system is, the Democrats at least pay lip service to the tenets of liberal democracy in a way the Republicans are currently not. Trump is downright a fascist, 100% a political enemy.
What I think you forget is that voting isn't declaring allegiance to a fan-club. It is chosing who you want to spend the next election term fighting. It is chosing the government you would like to petition, protest against, and criticize in the public debate. Whomever gets voted into office is the boss fight on the menu until the next election. And with that view in mind, voting for a party more likely to listen to reason is a really good strategy.
TL;DR voting is chosing which boss you wanna fight, not chosing which NPC is your ally for the boss fight.
just absolutely reeling from the argument "go ahead and vote, it's useless" as though that's a useful distinction from "don't vote" wtf
the way op carries on comparing voting to prayer after feigning acknowledgement of the "vote and do other stuff" approach fucks me up because the "do other stuff" is just immediately ignored, almost as though acknowledging actions beyond buying fair trade is inconvenient for the morally superior fatalist argument
"if you wanna vote you have a grave misunderstanding of effective political action" but you're suspiciously quiet about what political actions are effective. are we unionizing our workplace and creating a mutual aid group in our own communities, or are we firebombing a shopping mall? either way, you can still vote. voting doesn't prevent you from doing those. pretending it's one or the other is a mind-bogglingly dense stance.
So SCOTUS has just given Joe Biden the funniest way to end this election, ever.
If you’re wondering how they’ve weaseled around this so that Biden can’t take advantage of it
The ruling is specifically “a former president can have committed illegal acts during his presidency but the punishment for that is impeachment and since you can’t impeach a former president they are immune”
So if Biden does something they decide is illegal in office he can (and probably will be) be impeached.
Pour one out for a real one.
Reading up on him, he was a pretty cool guy. He was one of the first people to stand up to John Money about his theories of gender development and position that intersex infants should receive surgery and never be told about it using his abuse of David Reimer as ‘proof’, asserting that Money didn’t have the evidence and standing his ground even when Money straight up started screaming at him. And then later he was proven right when he got into contact with David Reimer, not only discovering proof that Money was wrong but also how abusive and horrific Money had been. He then went on to write advocating for intersex and trans rights and to avoid unnecessary procedures on intersex people without full informed consent and that intersex people are part of natural human variation and that we deserve acceptance and not to be treated like a disorder.
A quote I really like from him: ‘Nature loves diversity, society hates it’
