"Glad you don't mind a little company on pitch," he told Cal. Which was really just his way of saying he didn't mind sharing the pitch with Cal. He didn't want to sound like he did mind it. Jamie smiled at the mention of Cal's other little sister. "One of the afternoons if we have time I can give her keeper tips if she's interested. After the homework of course. School before quidditch." That's how he'd kept his grades up, knocking out his homework before heading to the pitch. Sometimes it meant he had to do things like sneak in some time before breakfast but Jamie had made it work. "I've been picking up pastries for the office on Fridays, I can get some extra if you think your siblings would like them," he offered. Normally he'd have just done it but with Cal he wasn't sure if that would go off well or like a lead broom.
"If you want," was all Cal said to Jamie's offer to give Sadie keeper tips. He was not going to encourage Jamie apparently trying to tack on more and more nice guy bullshit, especially not toward one of the kids. He definitely was not telling Sadie about Jamie's offer. The last thing she needed was for him to let her down. At least he had the sense to put school before quidditch. Not that Cal had ever done that. School had just been a means to an end for him. And quidditch was still his top priority now. He couldn't afford to lose the money he was making. But he also did want to get his NEWTs, both to encourage the younger kids--especially Mac and Ian--and so he'd have options if he did fuck up quidditch. But he mostly needed to not fuck up quidditch, which he was already failing at because Jamie thought he needed help. And now he was just going to keep butting into everything, apparently. "We don't need pastries," he said, even though obviously the kids would like them. But Jamie was doing enough. Too much, really. Cal didn't want him doing even more. Except for maybe one thing. "You said you could help with the form?" That was what Cal needed right now, and maybe once that was done it would get Jamie to leave without trying to offer more stuff Cal didn't want or need.
