Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost
Min wage should be 80k salaried
Like this isn't an exaggeration. You should be able to rent alone, buy groceries, have disposable income, and still save for a vacation or whatever tf. I cannot emphasize enough how little people are being paid
“i’m just so subby i can’t say no even when i really don’t want it” you are an unsafe play partner.
recipe for disaster (from the revolution starts at home)
reblogging this a second time bc i think it’s really valuable to look at what abuse in kink CAN look like instead of just discussing what it DOESNT look like. I wanna talk about this more but frankly, this isn’t where my experience lies. if anyone has posts on the topic i’d love to read them.
I just spent a few minutes looking at the maps of where flock cameras are in my area, and when I found a restaurant or store I know with one nearby, I wrote their corporate site to let them know I’d not be going there again until the cameras were gone.
It didn’t take long but it felt like some tiny bit of good to do. Pit the corporations against this shit, they have far more power than I ever will. Just a thing for spare time if you feel the need to DO something but can’t find a way. Worked for me at least.
If you do- Be polite, send nothing that police could call a threat, and maybe remind them that Flock has been caught using these to spy on children and such. Why would anyone take their family to a big corporate owned restaurant when that’s happening? Things like that.
Be safe and stay sane.

usual massage therapist wasn't available so i tried out a new person, and friends i think i have been treated by. a witch.
"do you get ringing in your ears sometimes?" "y-yeah. sometimes." "yeah, i would have been surprised if you didn't. the [muscle i do not remember the name of] here is like touching a guitar string."
"have you ever experienced whiplash? not recently, but in the past?" me, forgot about it since it was literal years ago and thus didn't mention it on my intake form: "...yes?" "okay, i thought so."
"are you a side sleeper?" "yes, i am" "on your right side?" "yes" "you really curl up, too, huh?" "y-yes."
me beneath the relaxation the whole time:
tried to see if i could schedule with massage witch if she might have any saturday appointments open in the future!!! and it turns out!!! she is retiring!!!! and is only seeing her longterm regulars until they can find a new therapist!!!
can't have SHIT
Something i find interesting about BrBa is that everyone around jesse just dont see drug addicts as people. His father is distant and cold, his relationship with his mother is strained. Mike calls him just “One Junkie,” Gus tells Walt not to trust him, walt is appalled when he hears jesse is recruiting his friends who are also addicts. He doesnt care when combo is killed just that its bad for their image.
Jesse is the only one who sees these people as people. He takes care of the ATM kid. Protects him. He demands justice for his friend, and refused to let badger get sent to jail. His relationships almost always show that despite the fact that these people are addicts, they are people with dreams and families and lives. When he recruits others, he always considers their emotional reaction and is often sympathetic despite his aggressive nature. Like walt said- he’s a blowfish. Full of air. He cares too much about other people to be truly dangerous. Ultimately, its why he survived- he was never suited for the life. You either get out or it kills you. Everyone else who decided they wanted to stay died.
I think we need to kill the sentiment that people lose their right to personhood once they do something bad enough
I don't know who needs to hear this but you need to stop dehumanising people even if those people are "abusers" or "creeps" because you need to understand that you are not immune to doing something equally as bad
Abusers and creeps are not some species of especially heinous animal or alien or monster wearing the face of a human. They're people. And you NEED to drill it into your head that they are people because you NEED to remember that people are capable of doingn heinous shit. And you are a person. And your loved ones are people.
By emotionally classifying people who have done heinous things as subhuman filth incapable of thinking and feeling and acting just like you and me, and by using that emotional dehumanization as a reason to deny those people any compassion or support on a systemic level, you risk becoming blind to abuse/violence perpetrated by someone close to you or even yourself. Because if "abusers don't deserve rights", then you won't ever want to admit or accept that you or a loved one is perpetrating abuse, and that makes stopping the abuse or preventing further abuse much harder. This is how you end up excuaing abusive behaviour on the grounds that, since you don't see someone as a disgusting subhuman pile of garbage therefore they can't possibly be An Abuser, Trademark
And here'a the even harder pill to swallow: since the world isn't split into "abusers" and "good people", in the same way you or someone you love can inflict abuse/violence on others, the people who HAVE inflicted abuse/violence on others can, in fact, change and become better people
There is no bottomless chasm of moral uncleanliness that someone can run off and fall into and get stuck in forever. People can do better. Yes, even those people. You HAVE to accept this. Otherwise not only is there no motivation for anyone to try and do better (which is when people become stuck in a cycle of violence and abuse they don't want to escape), but your idea of a perfect justice system doesn't look any different from Literal Christian Hell. And I HOPE you understand that Literal Christian Hell is, to put it very lightly, not a good justice system.
Unchecked and fear-driven dehumanization is the brick foundation for fascism.
y'know some years ago I saw a conservative post something like "transitioning is worshipping yourself when you should be worshipping god" and I was like hell yeah. hell yeah that's awesome. I'm turning myself into someone worthy of worship and spiting god at the same time. this rules
