“If men understood eternity, they would do anything to change their lives”.
Our Lady of Fatima
Maybe recovery is less about feeling good all the time and more about learning how to effectively cope with not feeling good...
“Don’t take things so seriously to the point where you’ve lost all enjoyment for the things you used to love. Life is so short; you must allow yourself to feel.”
— Nicole Addison @thepowerwithin
It’s okay to get lost in the things that you love. In nature. In music. In art. Why? Because you deserve it. You deserve to become completely consumed in the things that you love.
Nicole Addison @thepowerwithin
“Control your thoughts, and you will be able to control the way in which the world appears.Think highly of events; if it’s good, see it’s beauty. If it’s bad, seek for growth. Everything that happens has a reason, purpose, and difference that it will make. So take a moment, and choose to see the impact that your thoughts have on your life.”

TW: SURGERY STUFF
These are all my radiology images from my surgery. The top pic is me before my fusion. Then, after I got fused, my hardware ended up breaking. In the left column, you see my xrays directly post surgery. In the right, you have the result of broken hardware. A worsening curve.
Most importantly though, of most interest, is the last four images. These were all taken while I was on the operating table.
I used these for my senior project installation, which was about disability and embodiment, bringing in a lot of post-humanist theory.
People were in absolute awe.
Hope y’all get a kick outta my xrays as well.
