good lord. listening to @seenandnotheardpod and I’m only on episode 4, but when I heard Bet mention that David steps weird on the sidewalk I immediately suspected he had OCD, something in the description of taking strange steps and having to half pause, it immediately registered with me.

But to hear it actually confirmed, described like the debilitating condition it actually is??? I had not expected it and it made me genuinely emotional. I fully paused the episode and called my mom in another state to tell her about it (she and I both have OCD). Representation is so so so important!!

I haven't had time or brain space to listen to any new podcasts recently, so instead I'm taking inspiration from some wonderful shows that I love that are crowdfunding for their next season!

First off is @seenandnotheardpod! It's an audio drama created by a deaf podcaster that tells a story of a young woman who suddenly experiences hearing loss. The sound design is phenomenal and the story is so well told. I can't wait to hear where season 2 brings us.

Written by a deaf creator, Seen and Not Heard is a story about hearing loss and deaf gain. Bet goes deaf as an adult, and the story focuses heavily on the relationship she has with her family, and how she navigates both new and old friendships.

Season one consists of ten episodes, including prologues. Season two is currently in production.

@omenpodcast this first-episode listen turned into a two and a half episode listen very quickly 😅i had to remind myself that i had other podcasts to get to! this podcast has great voice acting, amazing sound effects, interesting dynamics, and an intriguing mystery so far! i'm definitely subscribing to this one.

@seenandnotheardpod the first prologue of this show was really interesting! i really felt bet's awkwardness and how apart she was from the group, especially when everyone was laughing without having voiced the joke and bet wonders if they forgot or did it on purpose. makes me want to take up asl classes again! ended up listening to prologue two, oh my GOD thomas is infuriating. the show does a great job of making you hate him lol, i was so over it as soon as he started asking questions.

@remnantspod i wasn't sure about this one at first (can't say why) but i am SO glad i listened, the first episode was very compelling! i loved following selene's story. this one is definitely worth a listen!!

guys i am begging you not to censor your captions. i want to know what's being said in its entirety not your censored versions. D/deaf people, HoH people, and people with auditory processing issues deserve the same fucking access that others do.

oh and while i'm at it can you caption your entire video, not just certain moments it's really fucking annoying.
