[tutorial] how to download full Youku videos in HD with Youku PC Client (only for Windows)

This might be a bit annoying to set up but it may be worth it if you’re tired of downloading videos in a million parts with flvcd. Also, this only works for Windows users because people in China don’t really use Macs so there’s no working Mac version. (even though there are quite a lot of iPhone users… -.-)

Step 1: Register on Youku/Tudou (If you have a Youku/Tudou account already, skip this step)

Go to Youku’s main page.

Method a: Use your cellphone number (not recommended) Idk since when, but recently Youku/Tudou made it so that you can only register with your cellphone number (whereas before you could use your email). I have no way of testing if numbers outside of China will work right now (which is why I haven’t made this tutorial sooner), but you are welcome to try if want (you should probably add your international area code if you do). This tutorial should get you through it, although I’m guessing you’ll probably have to put in the confirmation code you receive through text message at some point. Please tell me if it does work for you though so I can update this tutorial.

Method b: Login with Weibo I realized that making a Weibo is actually not a lot of fuss and people probably have it already to follow U-Kiss so fortunately, you are able to create an Youku account with your Weibo. If you don’t have an Weibo account, you can register for one here. If you happen to get stuck there are plenty of tutorials findable with Google.

Login to Weibo if you haven’t already. On Youku’s main page, click on the login button and a window will pop up.
