i promised a diatribe fuck you.
There is something to be said about Sunshower being Yi Sang's strongest available EGO, because the abno he gets it from, Drifting Fox, is somewhat based around the concept of kindness that's insincere or does more harm than good, and of course, that relates to Dongrang, as even though they were friends, Dongrang really just wanted status and recognition for his works and was willing to throw away the League of Nine to do so, and Gubo cared for Yi Sang in N Corp but ultimately let him do whatever he wanted, be it stay and be miserable in that gilded cage or run away, with nothing and no one. All very insincere and painful kindnesses.
HOWEVER. the fact it ties into umbrellas, which he puts over all his fellow sinners in the Awakening version of the EGO, and the fact that Faust found him, drenched in rain, cold on the side of the road, holding an umbrella
Like there's something to be said that the kindness of inviting him to Limbus Company was insincere or ultimately harmful, especially since Yi Sang, before his Canto/therapy said that he didn't care if he was revived or not and that he considered making the deal to be bound to Dante as the worst day of his life.
BUT. AFTER HIS CANTO. IT PROVED TO BE A BLESSING. Yi Sang is more happy, more outgoing, more willing to engage with his colleagues and more talkative... Dante saved him. Faust saved him... that and both of them making the extraction engine, could you blame him for catching feelings? Seeing a genuine version of that genius girl he works with so much on that WARP train and wanting to see that side of her again?
