fic update for tenets is late bc ive had a multiple weeks long headache and the spirit of obito is not flowing through me as readily as i need it to

It's really sad to me that Kakashi never really learns what happened to Obito, what Obito really wanted in his heart of hearts and that he had a seal on his heart that probably manipulated or at least kept him following Madara's plan.

When he asks what happened to Obito, Obito has a flashback and we, the readers, learn about it but he never explains it to Kakashi and Kakashi keeps asking, getting no answer.

When Naruto and the whole shinobi forces are pulling the Ten Tails out of Obito, they see his heart, his pain and how he knows he could come back, grieve Rin alongside Kakashi, achieve his dream and be happy, all with Kakashi by his side and that he has regrets over not doing this. But Kakashi is in Kamui, stitching his own wounds and does not see this.

And when Madara talks about the seal, it is in Kamui and it's only Obito and Madara there. Obito is all like "I didn't want to be your puppet so I got Kakashi to stab me to free me" and I wish Kakashi heard that. Cause at this point Kakashi probably thinks they fought simply because Obito wanted to kill him or something, he doesn't learn the real reason.

Despite all this though, Kakashi is so incredibly tender with him all throughout rest of the fight, hopes he can still atone and wants him to prioritize his own life over reviving everyone.

summary:

Suguru pauses before knocking, his raised fist drops back to his side. He looks at Satoru, gives him a very obvious once-over.

“Take the jacket off,” he says.

Satoru looks at himself, at the sunny yellow letters on his chest that scream their purpose “How’s anyone going to know I’m FBI, dude?”

Suguru raises his eyebrows. Surely he cannot be this dense. “They’ll know.” He turns back toward the door, pauses again, then turns back to Satoru. “And let me do the talking.”

“But I memorized the case details and I’ve got questions-”

“You don’t know these people,” Suguru says. He doesn’t know them either, not personally–they understand each other in a way Satoru does not. Cannot. “You have no idea what they’ve been through.”

Satoru opens his mouth and closes it.

Suguru knocks.

Satoru Gojo has a pathological need to be right. He tells himself he’ll have this case solved in two weeks, and then he’ll wash his hands of this tiny little town.

But girls keep going missing; eyes are watching his every move; and this new partner of his, Suguru, has no idea how to breathe.
