hey just wanted to say i got to see beetlejuice today and it was incredible, so naturally i headed to ao3 when i got home. your 5 +1 fic popped up and i absolutely adore it. debated for a while on whether to give kudos (it was at 666, which seemed fitting) but in the end i had to. so anyway, thanks for writing a great piece, have a wonderful day :)

i finally got the chance to see the touring production of beetlejuice. it was incredible. i didn’t expect to laugh as much as i did (i knew so many cues/punchlines even after all this time lol) but the actors had great comedic timing. there was a great joke about “only burning books that make kids gay” during the puppet show that had me screaming yall.

their voices were amazing as well! virtually every actor has huge shoes to fill from the obc and they all killed it. special shoutout to Megan McGinnis. barbara is my fav character in the show by far and she was amazing.

the changes from the original broadway production were also so fun to see! i was always so curious how they would do the maitland’s death. my face when there was no manchurian tung oil: 🤨😮

also a special shoutout to the fact that most people dressed up in theme (usually black + white + stripes + green). i was the only one in a barbara dress as far as i could tell tho 😌

anyways. thats my long post about finally getting to see this amazing musical. TLDR i loved it go see it if its coming anywhere near you (i had to travel a little but it was very worth it)

i love that specific ao3 phenomenon where you get a sudden influx of kudos on a work and it’s clear someone shared your fic but you have no idea who they are or where they shared it. it’s like being a dickensian orphan receiving money from a mysterious benefactor.
