I saw your post about the Italian KazeKi box set (so pretty!), and I was hoping you might be able to tell me how Rosemarine's given name and surname were romanized? There are multiple fan spellings online, so it'd be nice to know what an official translation decided on. Same for Karl (K or C?). But I understand if you're busy (or if you don't feel like checking stuff just because a random stranger online asked, lmao). No worries, just thought I'd give it a go! Thank you for sharing your pics! =)
Hi, no problem at all! :) I checked the volumes again (I read this back in January), and I can tell you Rosemarine is written Rosemarine Aryon, while Carl is Carl Maïsser.
It’s a pity I can’t put an image in a reply, but I can tell you that the Italian team who worked on this edition wrote at the end of every volume this note: ‘’names transliteration has been agreed with the author’’. I hope this helps. :)
If you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask me, it’s not a problem for me to check the manga. :D
11 years ago, in a dvd shop, I was searching for BL dvds (I was already into the shonen ai/yaoi genre), I stumbled on the cover of a dvd with two guys gazing into each other’s eyes intensly, I read the title ‘’Il Poema del vento e degli Alberi’’ (Kaze to Ki no Uta) and decided to buy it; when I went home that evening I watched the dvd, and I was hooked on! I fell in love with the characters, the setting, the dramatic story, the ost, the tumults, the adolescence, the sorrow and the passion I felt from the characters, I wanted more, much more! So I searched on the internet and found out it was based from an old manga, (and the first boys love), I wanted to read it, but sadly I found out the manga wasn't available, and the English scanlation stopped halfway. For years I would rethought of this manga with sadness, because I wanted to know the story, I needed it, but I couldn’t, because of my limited Japanese skills; so months ago, when I found out an Italian manga publishing company (J-POP) would have translated this work, you can’t imagine how much I was happy! I got tears in my eyes! I could finally read this manga! It was a dream come true.
I bought the complete box of 10 volumes for 100€, and it was worth every penny. The translation is so well-made, the dialogues flows smoothly, the pages are thick and have such a good perfume I can’t explain it in words, every volume have a book jacket and inside a bookmark with the cover of the volume, with the consistence of playing cards.
The first volume have some colored pages, and the last volume, the 10th, contains the images used as cover tankobon of the first Japanese edition (17th volumes), and the oneshot Kofuku no hato (The Dove of Happiness), a story Takemiya Sensei wrote years after Kaze to Ki no Uta were completed.
I’m grateful from the bottom of my heart that finally a publishing manga company took the important task to translate this masterpiece, and do it justice with such a perfect edition, I think this is the dream of every manga fan.
(btw, I read Italy it’s the first foreign country where Kaze is released outside of Japan!)
Sorry, I got excited, I will stop with my memories, here some pics I made ~

@elfo98 I mean look at him. So hopeful that first day. Then his frustration at not being reliable/good enough. Then his shock/surprise at being praised/acknowledged by Miyuki, at being trusted by the coach. Look at him. How can you not love this wonderful, wonderful boy?
Finally I found some time to change the graphic of my tumblr. I didn't like the old anymore, and then I noticed that it was missing an ask and an archive link, so dumb. ^^’’ I also added a ‘’My collection’’ link, but I should upload that tag, the last post was around 2015... In the meantime I bought new figures and doujinshi... And I also got a new cellphone with a decent camera; man, the pics looks so bad in those old posts...
