so as we bunker down for the evening: dorian is cat 5 and currently pummeling the bahamas, moving at about 5 mph. it is projected to curve east of us, but if it doesn’t it’s slamming straight into florida and we’re gonna get hit hard. evenif it does curve east, we’re still in the bands of it and we’re going to see at the very least tropical storm force winds and rain. honestly though? i’m pretty sure we’ll be ok either way. it just depends on how long we’re going to be knocked out. my biggest concern is for the bahamas. 

there’s already videos surfacing of how much damage has been done. if you can, reach out and look in to ways to help the islands if you can. they are being devastated by this storm and they don’t have the proper fortifying that most of florida does. 

please stay safe, and i’ll keep y’all posted as i can. if anything i will be in direct contact with my girlfriend @lastdissent​ / @fellfoxe​, she’s busy but i’m sure will let y’all know where i’m at if things go south.

           i’m sorry y’all my nart muses are quiet atm but i’m still around on disco if you ever wanna rp or chat. i haven’t abandoned gai or lee, i don’t think i ever could, but muse for them is at an all time low for now. we’ll see if i can’t get some plots and whatnot going soon.

emergency commissions

        hey it’s shi. im not sure how else to word this other than the simplest; i am jobless with less than a hundred dollars to my name. i need to renew my car insurance so i can keep searching for work that i will (hopefully) find soon. my birthday is the end of the month and the tags on my car will expire. it’s around two hundred dollars to renew, i use progressive insurance and the rate fluctuates depending on my ‘safe driving.’ i also got a flat tire last night and i’m looking to get a used one; there is a place by me that sells them for relatively cheap, it’s $35 plus a recycling fee, all together it’s around 40 bucks.

         i ask for your help, but in return i can make graphics for you. i can work with gifs and make headers, promos, and edit psd’s on icons for you. i can even make basic theme backgrounds, but i cannot code themes. examples of my works can be found HERE.

           i don’t have base prices. i honestly feel like a schmuck even asking for money from anyone, so basically it’s a pay what you think it’s worth thing. a donation, i guess. i do have limits, i’m not going to edit you 400 icons for $10, but i’m not going to demand a specific amount. anything and everything you can give will help. 

         you request a graphic from me, i’ll make it if i can, and then you pay what you feel is a fair price. icon packs and capping icons for you will be similar.

        Despite the facts that he was now a grown man of Jonin rank and his former teammates were now off independently doing their own things, Rock Lee still trained with his former sensei, Gai, frequently.  Maybe it was because Gai was his favorite person in the world.  Maybe it was because Gai understood how Lee’s brain worked.  Maybe it was because it was hard for Lee to let go.  Either way, Lee was beginning to feel guilty:

                                          Was he holding his Sensei back?

         Lee slowly unravels the dirty, ripped fabric bands that coiled up his arms, deep in thought. Gai spent so much time with Lee when he had so much more going on: A romantic relationship with Kakashi, as well as being the same man’s advisor in important political things.  Was Lee cutting into the time Gai should spend with his beloved?  Was he holding him back?

                “Sensei. .” Lee begins with uncertainty.  What should he say? He had always been blunt with his feelings and thought.  “Am I. . “ He squeezes his eyes shut.  “Am I holding you back from having a family?”

           he looks forward to training with his beloved pupil. the war and his new prosthetic have done little to truly slow the noble beast down, and it’s not often he can get kakashi out of bed early enough to complete his rigorous training regime, so whenever he gets lee’s company, gai is truly grateful for it.

           it’s why he’s beyond shoked to hear his student question what he does. gai has to pause in his own unwrappings to glance over at the budding youth, blink a few times. maybe clean out his ears, because he’s certain he didn’t just hear that come out of his mouth. gai grabs for his crutch so he can round his student and face lee head on. he makes lee look at him, too, waits until he does so before he says anything.

          “what has you under the impression that you aren’t my family already? that i don’t have one now?” he wants to know, so he stops doing it. there could never a be a doubt in his mind, “i don’t know where this doubt came from, lee, but i don’t like it. i have everything a man could possibly want.”

he can’t argue there. ❛ it’s definitely kept things…. interesting, ❜ kakashi offers lightly and it’s nothing but the truth. gai’s efforts may have come across as odd shenanigans and a waste of time in the beginning, but in truth neither of them would have come so far without it. while he’s moderate in his praise, he’s thankful for all that gai has ever done.

          “and i would much rather you take breaks like you’re supposed to, and not fall asleep at your desk,” gai is no stranger to hard work and long nights. he’s even learned how to keep jogging while asleep, muscle memory even making it so he could fight unconscious is he had to. and yet even he understands the importance of taking time for oneself - thus this impromptu sunset date, “malnourishment makes you more fatigued, you know. i know your job is important to you, but you are no good to us survived on day old coffee and granola bars alone.”

          he stops himself, gives a little sigh, and raises both hands up some as if to concede before he begins, “but this is not a time for lectures. this is a time to relax and enjoy your company. i’m sorry, my rival.”
