I know people who can read a book or two in a day but I prefer to read them slowly; to savor the pages and marinate in their words.

My love for you compares to the sun and the moon; Ever constant waves of affection that spread between fingers, And settle in the soft spaces and high arches of your mind. You are the warm beach and I am the tide, I try to swallow you up and take you all into me, Every thought and every word, soaked up and mingling In a spiraled haze that reaches up into the never ending horizon. You are the reflection that I desire, your scent encompasses My senses in a salty breeze, and I revel in the texture Of your grit against my skin; every sigh and caress. I love you like the sun loves the moon, holding you tightly; Our dizzying pace eternal across the Earth.

I don’t want to fall in love yet But I do want you to want me Cause I’m feeling rather lonely
47
You’re the one that wanted to still be friends You’re the reason I’m still clinging on If you don’t want to be around me anymore You’re going to have to dismiss me
46
I am in constant want of you But am constantly ignored by you
45
I’m still not over you I crave your touch To have your arms around me Holding me close I want you to want me To talk with you about everything and nothing I want to be wanted Your attention and affection means the world to me Even now when I mean nothing to you Maybe especially now There was a time when you craved my attention too When you woke in the morning and your first thought was of me When you’d send me messages throughout the entire day And you couldn’t wait to talk to me at the end of it With your voice in my ear and mine in yours And you couldn’t bear the thought of hanging up the phone first Because you didn’t want to stop talking And I would see you again in my dreams and you’d see me in yours There was a time when you moved your day so we could be together Even if only for a moment, an hour or two before your work When you’d skip a class so we could sneak away and make love Then fall asleep in each other’s arms because it was so perfect and warm I don’t know how you can go on living so easily without me You are still my first thought in the morning and my last at night I can’t forget the way you used to love me and want me Which makes it hurt even more when you ignore and neglect me You say we can still be friends but I can’t do it Not when you won’t even speak to me anymore How can we nurture a friendship if you won’t even look at me How can I move on when you torment me with this cruel hope that Maybe one day someday you’ll come back to me I can’t live on this broken promise anymore Hoping for a moment in time when I can steal you away for myself Looking at you from across the room as you laugh with other people Making plans with other people Creating a future for yourself without me in it I can’t keep thinking back on the time when you considered a future with me You wanted to marry me Did you forget those words you said to me? As we drove side by side in the dead of night With the wind rushing through our open windows bringing in the cold Do you remember those words you yelled into the night? “Would you think of marrying me one day?” Do you remember? Because I can’t stop thinking about From that moment on I hoped for our future together And now that future is gone and you destroyed it and you’re living While I break and cry and die inside over your broken promise I can’t let you go unless you release me But you still hold me Close enough that I can’t leave But far enough to break me

My heart weeps for something it once had But never can again
43
I love too passionately Too passionately and too completely
42
It’s not that I keep looking for you It’s just that I keep finding you In the face of every one I see.
41
Why does it feel so effortless for you You've gotten so good at pretending like we're nothing Part of me wonders if we were ever something I'm over here struggling and you're just there Living your life like your heart isn't broken Why are you still perfectly intact while I can't stop crying
40
I wish I could stop thinking about you But every second thought I have is of you
39
There used to be a time When we would do nothing all day But talk to each other Now we hardly talk And I don’t know what to do with my days
38
Wow, today I really miss you
37
I still don’t know how to act around you. Every instinct in my body tells me to hold your hand when we walk side by side. I have this constant urge to surprise you with a kiss, Or sneak up behind you with a big long hug. I still don’t know what to call you. Every name you used to have is now inappropriate. I used to call you ‘babe’, and ‘honey bunches of oats’, But just your name feels so foreign on my tongue. Sometimes you don’t seem to mind it when I slip up and call you, ‘honey’. Sometimes you welcome my accidental kiss, you always kiss me back, And sometimes when I forget and say ‘I love you,’ you say it back too. Do you miss all that? Is it as hard for you as it is for me? If so, then you hide it well.
36
Time flies when you’re in love Without you in my life, time moves at a snail’s pace.
35
I really hope with all my heart that this break up is temporary That one day you’ll wake up with an overwhelming pain in your gut You’ll miss all the little things we used to do You’ll miss the way I played with your hair while we cuddled You’ll miss my hands dancing across your shoulders and your back You’ll wake up and miss the sound of my breathing, The warmth against your neck You’ll miss holding my hand as we march down the halls You’ll miss the taste of my lips as much as I miss yours I really hope you wake up one morning and realize You don’t remember the smell of my hair You don’t remember the feel of my skin on yours, And you won’t remember my lips I really hope that’s the day you decide to come back to me.

Some days I’m okay. I’m too busy with work and school and living my life To notice that there’s something wrong, But when I have a moment to myself I can feel it. Something pulling at my heart, Followed by an overwhelming sense of loneliness. Some days I miss you so much I can’t breathe. I wake up in the morning and don’t want to get out of bed Because I know it’ll just be another day without you in it, And it feels so wrong and foreign. Some days I can’t understand it. I can’t understand how someone can claim to love someone, But at the same time push them away. I guess I just believe in a different kind of love, or maybe My love is different than your love, because I would Move the sun, the moon, and the stars, Just to spend one hour alone with you, one day a week. I guess it hurts to know that you’d rather be alone Than spend one hour alone with me, one day a week.
