A Human accidentally enters the territory of a Fae, who had been alone for a long time. A deal is made, since the human is wary and the Fae could use the company.

Careful when dealing with Fae, kids.

A deity is imprisoned by humans, only able to get lost in their thoughts until they're to be set free.

Vampire

A new hunter finally comes across a vampire he'd had in his sights, yet ends up getting caught. However, instead of threatening or feeding off of him, the vampire decides on a different approach.

Deal part 1, part 2

Villain sees Hero sketch and asks to see their sketchbook. They try to strike a deal with them, but it isn't as easy as they originally thought.

Ally

Villain was meaning to sneak into Hero's house, steal the necessary documents and get out. However, they end up staying once they see that Hero isn't as accepted by his family as Villain originally thought.

Playing with fire

Hero is stuck in a burning building, which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for Villain annoying them out of their mind. However, Villain may actually be onto something.

Ways to win

The villains are losing, but Villain isn't going to allow Supervillain to give up so easily. They have a solution, and all Supervillain has to do is to say yes.

Scary things

Hero and Villain are watching a horror movie, only that Villain clings onto Hero the entire time.

The one you trust

Hero and Supervillain are fighting, both knowing Hero has little chance of winning. However, instead of Supervillain taking them down, they open Hero's eyes to a painful truth.

The good parts

Villain, a book lover, is invited over to Hero's house, only to see how many books Hero has lying around. Most of them are unfinished, and Villain soon figures out why.

Over the stars

A miserable Angel seeks happiness and freedom, and while their most trusted Demon wants them to succeed, they don't think they have a place in the Angel's life. It is up to the fallen one to decide; Should they accept the solution the Angel offered, or do what everyone tells them is right, even if it ends up breaking their heart?

In your eyes

Hero thinks their powers are dangerous and horrid, and so they plan on letting no one else close. And yet when Villain asks, they can't bring themself to say no.

Amusement park

Hero decides to take the day off, only for them to run into Villain, and for the two to have a way better time than Hero thought possible.

Speeches

Hero and Villain help with each other's speeches...It goes as well as one might expect.

About Hero and Villain planning on having the first pose as Villain, while the actual criminal is absent.

Villain finds a distressed Hero on a rooftop and tries to help.

“You sure you're alright?” the hero smirked, jumping from roof to roof.

“I'm. . . I'm perfectly okay.”

“Is that why you're panting? Heroes train for much longer, you know."

I can totally go on, Villain wanted to say, but had to wait till air filled their lungs.

They wished they had some excuse for wheezing, like that they hadn't slept well, or that it was windy. But the hero had asked beforehand about their night (how cunning), and not a single leaf swayed in the wind.

“I suppose I can give you a break.”

Hero smirked as Villain tried to sit. “How kind of you. And you call yourself a Villain.”

“People call me that because. . . I'm. . .”

“The greatest mastermind, i know, i know. Catch your breath first, and then you can gloat.”

It was just so early and so exhausting. Villain couldn't help but wonder where on earth they went wrong. What calculation it was that led them astray.

Oh, Hero is incredible! They're so nimble (true) and strong (also true) and kind (oh so, so wrong). They're just never out of breath! Villain should ask for their training routine, they should ask for tips!

Only tip Hero knew how to give was death.

“Aww come on,” the hero said, holding back a laugh. “Stop pouting.”

Villain gave a narrowed eyed glare, which they gracefully ignored.

“You did well. But I warned you we should've gone slow.”

“I don't want slow. I just need a minute.”

Happily, the hero faced the sun.

“I'll give you two.”

Everything was soon bathed in daylight. They didn't know why they always ended up on rooftops, watching endless sunsets, or gorgeous fireworks, or the familiar night sky. What they did know was that neither of them complained. All they both did was scoot closer when they thought the other wasn't looking.

“Alright! Ready to go now?”

Please no.

“Is this revenge?” Villain whined. “Is it because I crashed your car? It was an accident.”

Hero smiled, looking far too much like a cat. More specifically, one that gazed at you proudly after pushing everything you owned off the counter.

“You said you wanted to see my training, didn't you?”

“Yes. Training. Not for you to kill me under the guise of a good deed. At this point just drop me in jail.”

On top of everything else, the heat had decided to side with the hero. It was well known they trained in mornings, but the Villain much preferred the night. It was cool and it was peaceful. Most importantly, there were no heroes making you question your life choices.

“You just like messing with me.”

Hero looked at them from over the shoulder, then, and suddenly the villain was glad they were sitting.

Something in their gaze making Villain's knees terribly weak.

“If I wanted to mess with the dear mastermind, I'd do it differently. Perhaps in a way i make sure you thoroughly enjoy.”

Their gaze–If the Villain wasn’t mistaken, which they might be, considering their brain was fried– was taking in every single detail, making it hard to breathe. Again.

“I wouldn't want a dangerous criminal to bother someone else,” they said innocently. “Correct?”

Yes.

No.

Yes.

What?

Before Villain could even process, the hero was already changing the conversation.

“Where should we go next? Should we hit the gym?”

“No. Nononono. I've learnt my lesson.”

Had the Villain's steps been unsteady when they walked over, the hero was kind enough not to mention.

“If I pay for an expensive restaurant and help you get a car, will we stop? I'm not exactly enjoying myself, and I'd hate to make a liar out of you.”

Hero grinned, now a calmer thing as they shook hands. The touch soft, lingering and wonderful.

And if the both of them blushed. . . well. One good thing that came out of morning training was that they could blame the sun.

Possible sort of part 2 on the fas story in the forest with the human in the forest? That is my favorite snippet by far (that's not to say your other work isn't spectacular because they are👌).

“Do you miss it?”

The human shifted against the grass. “My home?”

The fae stayed composed, quiet, be it from anger or sympathy, the human did not know.

Perhaps they ought to miss it. Perhaps, if someone asked, they should tell a tale of longing, or fear, or regret. But it was hard to, when Sorrel’s gaze melted it all away. When he gave them peace.

“A little,” they said finally.

“You do not need to lie.” he grinned. “Unless, of course, you missed that human little habit. I could indulge you if so.”

They let out an amused breath.

They had spent their days here, under his care, and it had been…different. Time passed too slowly with him, like it didn't even exist.

Sorrel had spoken of places where the sun always shined, or where seas stormed harsly under the softest breeze. One where flowers grew white, chipped and cold through the winter, yet bloomed red and bright in spring. Alive always, bearing storm after storm.

The human wondered if he missed those blooms; they could never tell by the way he talked about them.

They put their head on his lap and, for a while, enjoyed the peace.

“...why did you keep me?”

“Because you were desperate,” Sorrel said, his hands gentle on their hair. “I enjoy the desperate ones.”

The grass was soft beneath them both.

“. . .I see. But still, i i never told you.”

“You didn't have to,” he said, voice like a lullaby. “Your eyes were quite clear.”

“Even so, i can't just stay here.”

“And i'm not fond of letting you go."

The tree branches swayed in the wind, but otherwise, it was quiet. No faraway yelling of a mother's voice to desperately ask them back, no sobbing of their name.

There was nothing.

“But, if that's what you wish," Sorrel said.

The human froze.

“Perhaps you could visit your home once. Only once.”

He didn't say they had to return. The visit could last a lifetime if they wished. He was giving them an out.

The human would have recognized the secret hesitation in his voice, the inkling something lying there Sorrel couldn't voice, but they were too trapped in their thoughts of him wanting them gone.

Because if they left, even just for a bit, the spell he had on them would break, and they would have to go back to pretending they missed an empty room, a dead soil, a lack of shade in scorching sun, like a dutiful human would.

Sorrel’s gaze remained steady, always golden.

The human sat up.

“So I can go home.”

“You can,” he said, his fingers brushing stray strands away from their eyes.

“Then i think I'll stay,” the human finally said. “At home.”

Sorrel tilted his head, ever so slightly. His hand had stilled. If they didn't know, they'd think him a statue, fair and smooth and perfect. But then he laughed, and it was broken.

“I see. Well then, you're free to go.”

“So you'll have me?”

“Pardon?”

The human felt their lips form a smile, despite them not meaning to.

“Home is where you feel safe,” the human said simply. “I feel safe here. Although it must be terribly boring for you to be in this forest for so long.”

If he thought so, he didn't voice it.

“Truly?” He asked instead. “You… you wish to stay? Here? Surely you're not so foolish.”

Hiis hand was still over theirs. It was hard to think him cruel when his touch was gentler than a flower petal on their skin.

“Do you accept the deal?”

He stared and stared, long enough for them to have to remind him to breathe.

Hesitation, sadness, regret, joy, all clear in his otherworldly eyes. The human wondered how much more could fit in his gaze, what was there when he looked at the human without them knowing.

“Yes.” he said breathlessly. “Are you certain?”

“I suggested it.”

Sorrel's face turned deadpan. “You also suggested eating poisoned berries yesterday.”

The human laughed. “That doesn't count!"

They held hands over the grass, which seemed greener here.

“Let's make the deal very clear then,” he huffed, and kept his voice steady.

His gaze burnt, but they didn't mind. Those were eyes they had long since used to.

If this was a trick, they could finally leave. Be free from him. Sorrel would have to admit, in that case, to them being a particularly smart and cruel human. Maybe he shouldn't let go.

“Anytime you want,” he said slowly, and they could hear the fear.

“You can go home.”

After many, many years, the human still called the fae home.

"I hope you're here," the hero said.

They were talking to the villain, who was hopefully trapped in the seeminlgy infinitely tall enemy fortress the hero currently stood in front of. It was the ironically hero's job to save the villain and get them the hell off this planet.

"And if you're not here," the hero said, "I hope your death wasn't too painful."

Silence.

It rang heavily in Hero’s ears. The absolute wrongness of it squeezed at their heart like a snake, threatening to crush the lively organ into pulp.

“Where is everyone?”

The thought alone was dreadful. An entire city, emptied in what felt like the blink of an eye, without a soul in sight. Was Hero… too late?

Their battle with Villain had pulled them past the city border, far into the woods surrounding it. They had lost sight of it for such a short moment…

“H-How could this happen…?” the hero muttered anxiously, whipping around from side to side. The whole place felt like a graveyard.

“Do you like it?” another voice questioned from behind, a familiar voice.

Hero’s eyes narrowed. “Villain–!”

They paused. Villain was… not there?

“Hero…”

They swiveled around. Nothing.

“Hero…” the villain’s voice drawled, echoing all around, “...do you like it?”

Something new clawed at their heart.

Fear.

“Do I like… what?”

An ominous chuckle dragged its way through their bones.

“Do you like your new home?”

First of all, I'm sorry i left for this long without any notice, i hope i didn't worry you!! I had gotten rather stressed and wasn't able to keep up the blog, but i am doing a lot better now!

Hero soared through the sky, cape whipping around behind them. Their eyes scanned the cityscape in search of trouble and thankfully found none, bringing a pleased smile to their face.

A few civilians waved at them from down below, cheering at the sight of them. Hero waved back. They were practically oozing happiness, beaming like a second sun in the sky.

And of course, Villain had to come in and ruin it like usual.

Villain flew next to them easily, as if it was their birthright.

“Don't you think Becca is being a bit excessive with the yellow? Surely you'd see the sign without it.”

“What?”

Villain pointed towards one of hero's fans; They were holding up a sign that read Thank you Hero!! in these big, yellow letters. Hero's heart bloomed with warmth and villain, ever so helpful, was quick to dump ice all over it.

“Surely you remember your fans' names?”

“Well, i–"

“Because I have them alphabetised.”

With a flourish, a folder appeared, one full of people's names and pictures.

“Okay. . .” Hero said, “This is a bit much. Even for you.”

The Villain scoffed.

“I have these with permission. But now that you mention it, your fans had no issue barging into my lair. You might wanna tell them to be a little more polite.”

Surely they didn't hear them right. Their fans were very polite.

Did they. . .surely they didn't go inside their lair? What about the security system, the guards, the weapons?

If there was a way to mask their fear, their panic, their everything from the Villain, the hero had never found it. They knew nothing of how to not present their messiness on a silver platter.

“God, you're dramatic. Where's your Inhaler?”

Had ttheir fans gone to Villain's lair, thinking it was safe just because the Hero had visited once? Had they gotten hurt? Watched others get hurt?

“I swear,” Villain snapped, annoyedly searching their pocket. “I have to do everything. Have you ever actually flown with it with you? You're such a flying hazzard.”

They shoved a small object towards Hero, before the latter could even blink.

“Don’t expect me to keep bringing it, cause I won't.”

By the time Hero's eyes had focused, the inhaler had grown warm under the sun. They did keep forgetting, but what was worse was that the Villain never did.

“I. . .yeah. Yeah, okay.”

Under clear skies, and so close, the Villain's features looked far softer than they'd ever seen them.

“What are you doing here?” Hero finally asked, making them tense up.

“You don’t own the sky hero. I can fly freely too."

A chuckle left them unwilling and free.

Civilians were still looking up at the two of them, some leaning close to each other to whisper. It's not like the hero could hear them.

They must have made quite the sight.

“I take it you didn't hurt them, then.”

“Of course I didn't. You know I never turn down gifts.”

The hero blinked.

“Gifts?”

“For going easy on you,” the villain said, leisurely examining their nails. “And of course, for being your favourite nemesis.”

“I'm not– you're not– . . .You go easy on me?”

The sun set behind them, and it was almost like the Villain was blushing.

“That isn't important. What's important is that you tell your fans to stay away. My sidekick saw his daughter amongst your fans, he nearly fainted. He's fine," they added as an afterthought.

An odd sense of care swirled in them, even if they didn't mean for anyone to worry.

“I'll let them know.”

The inhaler sat in Villain's hands now, secure in delicate fingers. The hero didn't know why they stared for so long.

“You know. . .I could use some company. The Sky is awfully boring if you fly alone."

“I guess I can extend my morning flight."

“Great.” It was impossible for Hero not to smile. “You don't need to fly right next to me though.”

“I do. Besides. . .”

The Villain's eyes went low, scanning over the city, and for the first time since they came here, not daring to meet Hero's gaze.

The inhaler still glinted under the light.

“I hear it's the safest place to be.”

Mirth scanned the world outside her wall length window, a glass of wine held aloft, forgotten. The city streets below were empty compared to the choked mass of cars and pedestrians and even cyclists of the last few days. Where they had all gone, they were there to stay until it was time to descend back on the city when the world began again.

If they survived the holidays and the inevitable pleasantries with their extended families and friends they only ever see once a year, that is.

The scanner on the mantle crackled. Mirth turned her attention to it. Her lips pressed into a thin line. Everyone always said crime never takes a holiday, but the people who said that clearly weren’t heroes. Crime, as it is, did take a holiday as evident by the near silent scanner that served as her only company. So far, the only sign of life was the occasional check in performed by oncoming shifts or patrol units or that one time someone gifted a bit of holiday cheer in the form of cookies at one of the city’s many public heroes’ headquarters.

The Christmas lights sparkled in the tinsel she’d hung from the rafters of her apartment, but otherwise, she was perfectly alone.

“Patrol Seven requesting back-up, corner of Sixth an—” The radio went dead silent. There wasn’t even a hum, like the transmitting hero was hesitating.
