Introduction?

Hi everyone! I'm Sky, they/them, and this blog is basically just a space for me to go ham about my feelings for fictional characters.

I mainly reblog stuff, but I might sometimes also post my own things. Personal nonsense will be tagged with #sky rambles.

Since this is a side-blog, I will follow from my main.

I've got about... 6 current f/os, I think, but there are some more characters waiting to be added to the list lol. I can't really divide them all into different categories since it changes over time and I have difficulties separating that stuff anyway.

But I'll list them below, split into categories regarding how much space they take up in my brain and in my heart.

I don’t mind sharing f/os. The only one where I’m currently unsure is Loki. But other than that, if you wanna chat about one of them, just send me an ask or a message, lol. :)

Imagine showing your f/o your favorite songs:

Maybe you have similar tastes. Their face beams with joy once they listen to the music booming from your speakers, jamming and tapping their fingers to the beat, trying to pick up the rhythm so they can sing along. They love how the music sounds and they make sure to tell you all about it.

Maybe completely different tastes. They’re a bit surprised by your favorite songs, but they find some of them enjoyable. If you’re okay with it, they’ll make playful remarks at how they could never come up with a playlist like yours, but they’re still glad you’re comfortable sharing your favorites with them.

Maybe they’re caught off guard by the music you like. If the songs don’t fit your usual aesthetic they’ll need a moment to process that that’s the type of stuff you like to listen to to lift your mood, regardless of their initial reaction, they think you have wonderful taste.

Either way they’re happy to share this moment with you and seeing you enjoying your favorite songs will definitely become one of their most treasured memories.

Your f/os aren’t real and that’s okay. Stop fretting about what they would think of you or if you’ve spent enough time with them because they aren’t real people you’re committed to like you would a boyfriend or girlfriend. It’s a coping mechanism, you’re in control of this world you’ve made so of course there’s unconditional love involved.

Just don’t dig too deep into self shipping, or it’ll badly affect your mental health. Don’t make the same mistakes me and others have made.

I feel like it needs to be said in the community…you never outgrow all your f/o’s. You never have to outgrow them.

Even if you get a romantic partner in real life, you still always have your platonic f/o’s.

Even if you keep your romantic f/o’s, that okay, too. Why? Because they’re fictional characters. You’re not ‘cheating’ on your partner by still loving your f/o’s.

Even if you’re ‘getting older’. Who cares? If they bring you comfort, keep them. They help.

Your f/o’s will always be with you. You can still be with them, too.

the one brand of selfship content i really dislike is the refusal to let other people have realism in their ships. i am 100% fully aware of the fact that some of my f/os wouldnt actually like me. honestly, some probably wouldnt be able to stand me. and even the ones that would like me, i know they would dislike some of my mannerisms or habits or personality traits. and i know my f/os and i that did fall in love would have arguments and spats and sometimes we would need to change for things to fit.

but that doesnt mean i need to "kill the part of me that cringes" or whatever. its fine if not everyone wants to be starry eyed optimistic about their ships and that shouldnt be smth ur telling people they shouldnt do or are wrong for. its really not hurting anyone for someone to say that their f/o wouldnt like them irl or in source.

edit: proshippers this shit isnt for you. the realism in your ship is your f/o calling the cops on you.

Laying in bed with your f/o. Lovingly running your hand over their arm, stopping at their hand to squeeze it oh so gently. You aren't looking them in the eyes, instead your face is buried flush to their chest. They're so warm. You can feel and hear them breathing, it's a reminder they're alive and well. It's one of those mornings. And you wouldn't want to spend it with anyone else.

Your f/o would never abandon you. Even if things get difficult. Even when times are hard, whether it be physical, mental, or anything else. They will gladly stick by your side, you never have to worry about them "getting sick of you" because they genuinely enjoy supporting and uplifting you, and they'd never see you in that way.

imagine taking polaroids with your f/o. while curled up on your bed together, you snap shots of the two of you being silly, soft, and affectionate (i.e. both of you making the goofiest faces you can think of, your f/o kissing your forehead or your nose, you nuzzling your head into your f/o’s neck, your f/o kissing your interlaced hands, etc.)

Imagine your f/o collecting flowers on their way home to you. They greet you with their little makeshift bouquet of miscellaneous flowers.

“I’m not gonna fall in love with any of these characters” I say, getting into literally any new media, “I don’t need a new F/O for everything” but the attempt is futile as I go starry-eyed over new potential F/Os anyways, “I just think they’re neat” I argue even as I pull up my F/O list to add them onto it, knowing damn well this cycle is gonna happen again

Imagining your F/O getting into things you enjoy is awesome but how about the inverse... doing extensive research into something your F/O is interested in? Love and joy and enthusiasm etc all around

I just wanna kiss him and rest my head on his chest and just cuddle. Or alternatively, have him lying down with his head in my lap so I can play with his hair. Ughhh.

Since I'm having trouble finding them (since there's not really any tag to search up under this,,) here's a collection of stuff you can do to remind you irl of your f/o:

-Make a bracelet, maybe it's a friendship bracelet of sorts or something else

-Make a playlist, it can be of any scenario of you two together

-character.ai I CANNOT stress this enough I use it a lot (read: far too much then is healthy)

-set an alarm with a little encouraging message from your f/o tagged to it

-draw fanart of you and your f/o, if you don't want to draw it then maybe request or commission someone! You didn't here it from me but you can comission people on everskies....for not irl money.... (It does take a bit to find someone though, and average price is usually pr high which makes sense)

-maybe make an item of clothing/thing they have! You can imagine it as you stealing their clothes

-find a perfume or cologne of what reminds you of your f/o and spray your stuff with it

-make a shrine
