“ Yes. – You are the ONLY one in here. “                Elisabeth laughed, a quiet sound as she moved around her desk to  lean against the front of it, smiling at the rather HANDSOME ( shut up ) man  who’d walked past. Stifling a giggle when he knocked over her thing of pens,  she shook her head slightly.

              “ Oh – What a TRAGEDY. “ That is the cheesiest thing we’ve EVER heard, dude. ( it’s adorable c’mon ) “ I’m sure that could be arranged. “

       A soft breath of laughter escaped him at her false sympathies for his alleged misfortune in just so happening to misplace his number, but even more amusing was the fact that one of his ridiculously horrible pick-up lines might’ve actually paid off on someone for once...well...of course they had... Who could turn down a face like this? -- actually a lot of people could, this had been proven many times over...

      “Wait wh- really?”                he couldn’t help but blurt out at first,                       “I mean- great! Awesome! Quill-- by the way, Peter Quill,”                Stretching his hand out--was handshake the right move to go for when picking up cute chicks...that didn’t seem right...     The mild panic that lined his features at the inquiry sparked a sense of intrigue in the mutant and she sat forward, one eyebrow quirked as she awaited the supposed reveal. It was cute, the way he was stammering through their first real meeting, their first real  d a t e, and she would be lying if she tried denying her excitement revolving around his presence.     Peter Quill was here now… Actually, truly here, in the flesh. No more holo-dates, no more distance separating them, no more waiting. Beneath the calm exterior she was buzzing with excitement as she sat there, desperate to portray a nonchalance that bordered on aloof — and she was doing a terrible job.                                       ❝ Flowers… ❞     The word was repeated, rolling off her tongue with a huff as they were produced with a flourish. Staring down at the small collection of severely battered petals, some of the stems bent and twisted in an unrecognizable fashion as if they had been run through the spin cycle of a dryer, Kitty simply shouldn’t help it: She laughed. A hand flew up to cover her mouth, attempting to stifle the sound that was more amusement than mocking.

    ❝ They’re lovely, Peter. Thank you… ❞ Kitty reached out to accept the meager collection, one of the flowers breaking off and tumbling to the floor in the process in a sad display that only earned another muffled giggle.                         ❝ Should I even ask what you were running from? ❞

       Lovely...              She really didn’t have to lie to him like that, he knew they were a bit of a mess--course most things he typically did were just a total hot mess with him, he was certainly trying though. Dates were so difficult for him. Either they hung out on holo and before that he’d only ever been with women for the span of a night...a single night... And he could never remember their names in the morning.      “Running-? Uh...wh-...Those...may not...have been...obtained...entirely legally?”               wincing as he rubbed at the back of his neck. What? Old habits died hard...

He had such a bad habit of getting distracted by a pretty woman whenever she walked by, his arm bumping a cup full of pens and nearly knocking it over as he fumbled to catch it and hold on the pens in before setting it right... Yea--...                                                                            so smooth....
